No kidding! But I guess construction goes much quicker when you are paying for it rather than getting paid for it! Can we nominate you for the show Man Caves, so you can have a professional come in and decorate it for ya? :p

Morning y'all. Time for a coffee and a hot shave. Then to get the little monster up and ready for school, which leaves me about 3 hours of shop time this morning!

Lol I was a construction helper on a job and they told me to slow down. I'm used to working for myself, grew up on a farm so I'm all go until the job is done.

Lol I have to check out that show, bring 'em over! :D

Morning everyone!

I hope you get in some good shop time X, that slipjoint is looking good!

I was expecting to do some epoxy or drywall (2nd coat of compound! :D ) this morning but I have been dealing with BS all day. UPS lost my epoxy and now that the second batch they sent out is here they won't deliver it. They called me at 9:30 this morning and told me I can pick it up between 9-10 am today... of course they are 45 minutes away so I can't get it! I'm not exactly happy about it, they told me they will send it out again and it should be here in 2 days but they expect to send it back for drop off again... WTF!!! It would have been more tactful if they just told me to go screw myself. Rant over, lol.

On a side note besides the delays the drywall is going well! :D

A quick update, my shop time is up and I have to get ready for work...

Finished the blade today, 320# hand rubbed satin finish, I want a user grade that can be touched up easily.

You may also notice I modified the wharncliff shape just a touch, I added some belly to help it cut better against a surface. Also makes touch up sharpening a bit easier.

Time to get to work....:(

Afternoon men.Daniel I know how frustrating UPS can be.I have had problems with all of them at some point. Best of luck brother!!!

That is looking nice!!! The plunge on that is just looking killer, I really appreciate a nice transition like that. Great finish too and it is the best of durability and looks, excellent!

Thanks! They will set me back a couple of days on the floor but I can get more work done in the meantime. I had to take the afternoon off, our truck had some odd problems and we took it in to the shop... not fun my wife was on the way to a doctors appointment and we are scrambling to get ready for the baby, she is at 9 months today.

Yeah, now is not the time to have problems with your ride. Hope you got it fixed without to much trouble.

Thanks Sir! It turns out it was only the alternator but it threw me off because the brake light came one, it registered charging and was running rough.... long story short it won't be too bad at all. The 4runner seems pretty good to me but it is 22 years old... I'll keep it going for a while more I hope.

Best wishes Daniel. When my wife had my son I got her to the hospital at 5 to 8 and she had him at 0804.Talk about cutting it close. I was running red lights and everything and we only lived 10 miles from the hospital. My youngest was stubborn she was almost 4 weeks premature and I had her at the hospital at 1230 AM and she had her at 0923. On a better note I got an unexpected check yesterday from my employer for them charging us an extra 4 % for our health care that was judged unfair labor practices so I got it all back. Going to Marquette today and am going to either buy a Remington 700 or a Benelli Super Nova Tactical 12 gauge. I un decided guess when I hold them I will know! Here is to your wife and baby being very healthy and we will be waiting for our Cigars..........lol

Hey Big, you should check out the 700 sps, with the bull barrel. It a great platform for bench shooting and is reasonably priced off the shelf. I think it is a great gun, right up there with my ruger 77 in 6mm Rem.

Best of luck Daniel. Remember, lots of walking for momma is good. Tell her to be happy it isn't summer when she is this pregnant! My wife was at her biggest during the hottest part of the year! She was miserable!

That's pretty wild! We are about an hour from the hospital so we will be sure to leave early! :D

Those guns sound nice!

Cigars soon, lol... I had almost forgotten! When I lived in the V.I. I used to smoke the occasional cigar, they have some really nice ones from the Dominican Republic... Cubans too but I found them to be overrated.

Thanks for the tips Xander! She was getting in a lot of walking but has eased off with the snow and is now doing more Yoga, lol she was helping me finish drywall yesterday! She's a lot better with the compound than I am. We have been pretty darn busy and her parents are coming to help us soon, we are just scrambling to get everything done. Our place is tiny and until the shop is finished we barely have any room for anything. It's going well though... can't wait/really really need to get back on the knives!

Morning men. I got some demo work to do at my parents house this morning. An old hot tub is getting taken to the dump today, I already pulled the motor which is an open frame 1.25hp 1725rpm motor. I wish it was a TEFC, but oh well. My dad also has about 8' of 1.5" square steel tube for me, per my request, so I can build my own 2x72! I already have a 1hp 3450rpm motor that is TEFC, so I just need to do some figgerin' out for the design, either 3 or 4 wheels. I know I don't want a two wheel grinder.

-Xander

Time for coffee...

Morning men. Well I was going to buy another 308 and ended up with a Remington 700 in 7 mm Rem mag. I have a bi pod to go on it and bought some Federal 150 grain bullets for it. Now waiting for spring to put some rounds down range. Gander Mountain was having a huge firearms sale so being Friday it was a mad house. Trying to get around with a cane was difficult people do not care about running you over.Got to take my youngest daughter and her boyfriend out to dinner at apple bees. Her boy friend is trying out for defensive end on Monday. He is 6'3 and 280 and very protective of my daughter. That makes me happy. He has wanted to date her since the 6th grade and waited till college because he was scared of me.

Nice score on the motor and tubing! Keep us posted on the progress if you start a grinder.

I looked up that Remington and that sounds nice! Cool...

People should show some respect. I have been thinking about making a sword cane... I'll let you know!

Your daughters boyfriend sounds like a good guy! I hope you guys enjoyed dinner.

I played defensive end in high school, it was my favorite position to play. My school was small so I was a guard on the offense and funny enough the kickoff kicker when I played JV! Small town TX football, lots of fun! I later played rugby in college, rugby was awesome as well.

More snow removal and work on the shop today. I'm going to heat treat some CPM 3V soon as well... need dry ice for cryo. :D

I swear post just appeared... odd or I'm just too tired!

Congratulations on the second kiddo! We are super excited!

Morning guys!

We got 6 inches of snow overnight and I can barely open the front door... I spent yesterday afternoon clearing the last stuff out, lol I thought we were good to go and I probably couldn't make it down my driveway now! Winter... This last storm has probably brought in 18" total, not bad for the weekend. Plow time.

I got about 25 pieces of baseboards and trim put up in the new shop yesterday, things are a bit out of order now because I still have some drywall to do but going about as fast as possible! I can't wait to move in!

WooHoo! Can't wait to see the shop done! I am thoroughly jealous.

Day off for me today, and I get to spend every minute of it in the shop! Coming to a close on that slipjoint, and hopefully it will be sitting on the bench with the epoxy drying tonight!

-Cheers!
