G'day Gents! Got an early day today, the wife works a long 11 hour day so we will both be tired tonight. Made a big batch of Potuguese beans that started cooking on Monday night and finally finished yesterday around 7pm. Now just to grill up some pancakes to go with it and I will be in hog heaven! Nice thing about slow cooked food is it usually gets better the longer you let it cook. 24+ hours seems about right for these. Next I will make some venison and black bean chili.

Evening men, not to rub it in...but I'm gonna rub it in anyways ;)

I love California...

Got some jerk style dry rub pork centercut chops in the oven and will have a basic pilaf and baked apples ready in a few minutes. Berringer Chardonnay to compliment.

Awesome photo and the food sounds great!

I have been doing drywall all day and that's all I'm going to say about that, lol! Drywall...

Morning men.Daniel you will be real happy once it is all done. The way you are working it will be done by this weekend! Then you can get back to knife making..........Mike

Well Daniel, at least with your drywall project there is no removal to be done first. That is always the part I hate, always such a mess.

Good morning. I sure hope so! I haven't had a day off in about a month and don't want one until this is done.

Lol there was some removal yesterday evening. It turns out drywall isn't my forte but at least the panels were clean! I'll be good at it by the time I'm done!

Morning men. Daniel you are working so hard on that shop that by the time you get back to knife making it will seem like a break! I know you guy's have limited time before the baby comes. I must be weird but I can not wait for grand kids. My son is engaged he says they are going to wait a couple of years. I know they are being smart by the time I was 19 I had a 4 year old and a baby.Gave them lots of love but it is tough on a marriage when you are working 3 jobs to make sure all the bills are paid. It made me tough but the time I missed with my kids I can never get back.I spend as much time as I can with them now.By my 3rd child we were financially stable so she got a lot more of my time. Made a big difference being able to enjoy my kid instead of working all the time.

Morning all. Big, you're right, its tough to have kids nowadays. I feel like I have to work a full time job just to pay for childcare! I love my son to death and look forward to the time we spend together every day. The hardest part for me is with this new job, I am not home to sit down for dinner with him and the wife. I miss that so much.

Daniel, I know you get tired of hearing it but, your life will never be what it once was. I will be the first to admit, it took me 6-8 months to have it fully sink into my thick skull that I was a father. Going to work everyday had a new meaning, that child needs me to support it. All the best wishes to you and the misses, don't let any special moments get by you with out being recorded, I still get choked up when I look through my sons baby book. I excited for you two! Much respect, bro.

P.s. he is feeling much better now and the lung infection is gone.

Xander you are very correct! Imagine I was 15 with my first and 19 with my second.I was 25 going on 26 with my last one. Being older I was more able to enjoy my child because we were better set.I still spend as much time as I can with them now and they are 29,25 and almost 19.Dam does time fly by. Seems like yesterday they were toddlers and now they are all adults.I thank god I raised very responsible and respectful adults.

I think grinding all day won't seem as tough after this drywall! I knew it would be kind of tough but it is really tough! I have a new respect for anyone who does it.

I have huge respect for you BigCountry, you worked hard for your kids and that is the best possible! I want to do the same.

Thanks and big respect to you Sir! I am glad Xyler is doing better! I know things will be different here but I bet it will be really different here soon!

Morning men.Daniel I was not going to say anything about the dry wall.I learned first hand how hard it is. Trying to do a ceiling with out a dry wall jack was dumb.Thought because I was big and strong and wanted to save money.lol Got one sheet hung and went and rented the dry wall jack.

Wanted to post on here yesterday my daughter was on the way home from college. About 12 miles from home the back tire starts shimming bad.so she calls home and we tell her to pull over were on the way. All I can say is thank God my baby is safe. All but one of the bolts that hold the lug nuts had sheared off. Gonna cost some money to fix but I don't care all I care about is my daughters safety. They said it is a freak accident them all shearing off.And they all dd it on the 110 mile ride home.

BC, glad to hear your daughter is safe, maybe the bolts were over torqued or something. All of them shouldn't
have failed like that. Good thing she called you insted of tring to make it the last few miles.

On a lighter note, Barracuda wasn't working last night, so I got to surf Blade Forums at work in my free time.
Man the night went by a lot quicker.

Big, that isn't a freak accident. Wheel studs don't just shear like that. The same thing happened to my dad on his work truck years ago. The company investigated it and found that the place that did the tires were using air wrenches to put the wheels back on but way over torqued them. They found several other trucks with cracked studs after that. Glad she was smart enough to call and not just drive home.

Funny story, my ex drove around for 4 months with a broken steering rack in her acura before she ever said anything. She would be in the middle of a turn and it would just lock up, so she would just would grab the wheel and practicaly hang on it to get it to turn! It was pretty dangerous! That led to another fight and well, let's just say the best thing is that she is now my ex!

Daniel, I just missed out by minutes on some teak burl on ebay! I saw it was about to close and tried to log in on my phone (at work) and it wouldn't sign in fast enough. :( teak burl is super rare and it went for a reasonble price. I am still going to keep an eye out for some and send you over sized of what you are going to need. Maybe some curly teak if it is nice. I will let you know when I sen you some.

-Xander

How dark is the teak burl? that sounds pretty cool. I'm only familiar with teak on boats and it is always quite dark (the deck on this ship is teak -- or so I was told)
