I wraped the handle today and did some wittiling ,cut some paracord and everything else that needed cutting and some stuff that didn't need to be cut. Has not failed me yet. I have it in pocket carry mode right now.It is soooooo light I don't even know it is in my pocket . Have a good night y'all.

Morning guys!

Been busy honing up a bunch of razors. I just got 5 cheap chinese razors that need some work from the factory but are known to be good shavers, gonna mod the hell out of a few. My normal rotation and a couple new ones. I got a Heljistrand MK32 in Tortoise Shell scales the other day and am gonna clean it up for myself.

 Great to hear that, thanks! I am going to keep one clipped to my backpack so I always have a knife when I am hiking.

Morning all, or good night depending on your location. :D

Nice! Your work with the razors is really cool! No pic showing but I know that is just photobucket... at least for me it is not really working.

My internet is messed up, my camera is screwed up, photobucket is down, lol I was going to get caught up on more computer stuff but I don't know! I can always go grind some metal. :D

I need to mail a bunch of you guys, invoices and stuff. Right now my net is working so I will do what I can, sorry it is taking me a while! I spent all day Saturday on pics, all day Sunday on email, yesterday I took the day off and got some shop supplies... this entire time I haven't had a chance to really talk to anyone about their knife. Don't worry, I really want to! :D

Hey BigCountry! Good to see you.

Morning guys! Busy here, not much time on the net but a ton in the shop!

It's already cold here and about half of the oak trees have already changed colors. It is in the 50's in the shop and I have been working in a hoodie already. Time for the heater soon, lol I catch my sweatshirts on fire grinding! I bust out the apron sometimes but it is kind of heavy duty combined with the full face respirator. lol... :D

I decided the clock radio style radio I have in the shop had to go, I can usually barely hear it when grinding and it sounds horrible... I ordered a T Class amp by Topping, it was way cheap but I think it will be killer! I'll probably use it in the house and take my house stereo to the shop...

2x15 watts at .018% total harmonic distortion for $100 shipped!  Not long ago this would have cost a fortune. 10% thd is pretty common, I almost bought a boombox but for the same money this will be killer! lol I'll have it in about a month and am excited!

Sweet score on the amp! I still need to get a powered center channel for my 1968 Pioneer SX-1500TD. My Dual two-ways are still running like champs, but the low end is lacking a bit for the room size. Id like to go vintage to match the rest, but its not mandatory. Where did you score that deal? I have another Sansui set up from 1973 that's running strong that I may move out to the shop, but I would need a DAC since vinyl and grinding dust don't mix very well.

Sucks about winter moving in already! We just finished off a string of 17 days above 90* here, just shy of the record. Still in the upper 80's though. I always plan my major outside projects to be done by Oct. 15th before the rain sets in. It will still be in the mid 60's during the day, but the winter rains start showing up.

I am jealous! I love the cold weather! But I don't live were it snows .
Have a good day everyone!

'68 Pioneer, that sounds killer! We had one like that growing up and it was awesome. I am a big fan of vintage gear and it used to be easy to find, it seems around here that stuff has dried up. I looked a bunch in the thrift stores too, it was not long ago you could get a technics amp here for $5. My current stereo is a 1993 or so Pioneer that I bought barely used, it has been great and sounds awesome for what it is. (lowish budget when new) I have a sweet 100 watt per channel tube amp, it is an ancient rack system probably from a really nice setup as it sounds killer with great headroom. It smells funny when running though and is in TX, lol. Lol I have used it to power a marshall half stack and it would take your head off with the clean volume. I always wanted to set it up here and get some kind of converter for it, it only takes the really old kind of cords.

I have an old home tube stereo from the 1950's also at my parents place, it is huge... cabinent sized and also sounds killer. I think it was $10. It is some wacky three channel setup or something and is loud as heck. Too big for my place...

Lol I have about 10 tube guitar amps as well, all pawn shop or auction cheapies. the best was maybe $25, most were broken but I fixed them.

I found the amp on ebay, I think direct from the manufacturer. They are a somewhat recent thing and a major advance in technology. It is only the size of a big guitar pedal too! Low wattage but that is fine with me. I have some Yamaha NS-10's that are 25 watts each so they will be nice.

I really enjoy it at times and right now the weather is nice! I can tell we will have a mild winter but some years I get 15+ feet at my house! The mountain you see in my shop videos used to have a ski lift on he other side.

My parents told me it was 106 the other day, ouch! Right now I don't miss that. :D

It is a pretty good little set-up. The only draw back is the speaker connection, it has these funny little plugs that you connect bare wire to and then plug into the receiver, completely proprietary. They look like two spade connecters with one verticle and the other is 3/4" to one side and horizontal. I was missing one and had to pay like $30 for one.

I got one of my turntables from Buy.com off eBay. Shipped from their warehouse and everything. Was cheaper that way. It has turned out to be a killer little turntable for $120. Upgrade the cartridge and it sounds as good or better than $500 TT's. The only oter killer semi budget TT I found is Music Hall, their stuff sounds way out of the price range! $400 stuff that beats some real top shelf equipment! Plus Music Hall gear looks much nicer than black plastic and silver buttons. Real quality stuff. I'm running a Grado Blue cart in my Technics SL-BD20D turntable right now and it just blows me away.

Grado makes a killer cartridge for the money ! that is what I am using.Xander, If your looking for stereo equipment I have a good source for that stuff . Remember Daniel I will trade stereo equipment for knives:D

Morning guys!

Kevin, you have a source for vintage stuff?! Or are you going through little Bob? All this home audio talk reminds me, I should pull the case on my Pioneer, the mute button is cutting in/out and I have a couple back light bulbs I need to replace if I can find them.

Anyways, time to take the dog for a walk and then I'm headed out to the shop. Gonna work on the kamisori and hopefully fire up the forge for heat treat today.

Morning men!

You guys talking about turntables make me really want to get mine going. I used to have a few and a mixer but do not really have the room for them at the moment. I'm hoping slimming down my gear will give me room, I have a ton of records... classic rock, drum and bass/electronica, jazz, blues, punk rock, you name it besides new country, lol. I have an old Sony TT I picked up that I should get going, it has a nice wood base and looks great. If I ever get a bigger place it will be on!

I did a lot of grinding yesterday afternoon, I needed to go grind and it was nice! 4 days of email/pics in a row there. I think I filled my 5 gal bucket 1/4 of metal...

I recently switched to 3M belts as the Blazes were gumming up my platen too much and I really like them. I think I have profiled 10 knives in .315" from one 40 grit belt, not bad considering I don't even have a bandsaw for removal, that is a lot of grinding. I'm using three types of 3m, the cubitron one and two and 967? I think... they are yellow and two shades of maroon.

Evening men.Have not been around much. The doctor is talking about a second spinal surgery on me.Not sure if I want anymore cutting done on me.

Hey BigCountry! We're thinking of you Sir, I hope you feel better.

Flatblackcapo - you know you have me seriously tempted on the audio equipment! Maybe we can work out a trade, I am looking for some bookshelf speakers.

Evening guys! I molded a ton of sheaths today, most of them twice, lol! :D

Oh Daniel, I forgot to mention, the best book shelf speakers I have ever heard were EPOS brand. Right about $250 each and the sound reproduction is exceptional. They are two-ways and can go down to about 12 cycles! Clean, crisp highs and lows that resonate like a 10" sub, not muddy at all. My Dual speakers are actually holding their own against higher end stuff, but I also make my own speaker cables and running a quality deck makes them sound much better. Too bad my house is lath and plaster with hard wood floors so anything beyond what I have doesn't make a difference anyways.

Nice on the shop time and very nice on what you did with it!

The razor is looking great! Tough project I have to say. Cool forge too, I like it.

Do you use waterstones or are they used on those? Just curious, I have no idea! I want to buy one from woodcraft, they have them for cheap. They sound killer for carbon steels.

Nice to know that, I think those sound familiar. 12 hz is nuts! I am also big fan of Yamaha speakers and just about whatever is cool!

I have pretty much nothing into my home stereo... one thing is that I had the same Pioneer CD player for since 1994 and when it finally stopped working I switched to a $20 DVD player, lol the difference was amazing! I though CD players were all the same but the digital converters now are way better. I bought the NS-10's a long while back for cheap off of a local guy who happened to have some on ebay and they are the core of my system, the majority of albums for probably the last 20 years were mixed on them.

Excited about this new amp! It is as simple as it gets, I think I can make it work instead of my big receiver. If not I'll use both! lol I keep looking and drooling at the components
