Gooey ,It sounds like you must have installed the aftermarket forcefield just in time:D I'm glad your magnum is safe.I would cry if my wagon was smashed!
Daniel,PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!We need you!New compressor? POTATO GUN!!!!!!!serriously you should make one

ahhhh potato gun

see you guys in a few days, I'm going to the hardware store!

I have some pics, but I only have a small grainy video of the mag doing a burnout at the dragstrip against a supercharged Ford Lightning, and no videos of my laps at the roadcourse :(

Now, my friends who I race with on the other hand, they've got multiple great shots of their cars launching, lapping, etc. Nice long videos of them screaming past pit lane even. Guess who takes all these pics and videos? That's right, this guy. I wish I could take pics and vids of my car going down and around the track.

I remember the pics, that is one cool car! I'm glad it made it.

I hit a tree with my truck last night but it was small and I was going slow, lol! no damage... We actually dug and chopped a road in to the shop last night so we could unload the compressor. My truck slid a foot sideways after it was parked and hit a tiny scrub oak... :D

I hear you on the photos, I need a camera man! lol

Post a pic Gooey! I would love to see your wagon. Here is a old pic of my wagon.

I'll get a pic of my vehicles when it is not raining. I just got the T100 going and also have a 4runner we use the most. I have the 1962 Ford Truck but it needs a lot of work.

Nice car Kevin! do you still have it I miss my old Subaru station wagons...

Daniel, are you going to pipe the compressed air from your clean room (If i remember correctly you have one of those) to your dirty room(I know you have a dirty room ;))?
The Hull Tech I worked with for a few weeks in a carpentry shop did that. It meant that the wood and metal dust from didn't get into the compressor. I'm not quite sure how it was done, but he had a number of outlets with the snap fittings so he could pop in his nail gun, blower etc in a few seconds (the compressor was always on).

haha, I knew I could bait kevin out with that! But truth is, Im not sure Kevin even knows how to drive anymore. What's it been Kevin, 4 years since the Silver Surboard has been driven? Am I going to buy that one from you for a couple hundred bucks as well, just like my bug? I have a wagon, sorta. Can I race too?! Its got just a tad over 270hp at the rear wheels, wrong rear end for racing, but it'll giddyup! The Short Bus has surprised a few people, mostly by massive understeer and poor 60-0 performance in hard braking!

POTATO CANNON!!! Let me know if you build one, I totally geeked out and built some serious ones when I worked at lab. We built stuff for real weapons, so why not have a little fun from time to time. I crunched some numbers for efficiency and had my last one breaking fence boards at 35yrds! I also had remote ignition and optimised burn pattern in the combustion chambers. DO NOT use ABS black plastic pipe, it is not pressure rated, use Sch. 80 PVC. If your going to do a combustion gun, forget hairspray, use Right Guard spray deodorant. It has the lowest molecular weight of the exhaust gasses of the atomised liquids I tried as propellants.

While you're at it, that Sch. 80 PVC can also be used for plumbing your air lines in your shop. Put female quick connects about every 3 feet, and dont forget a second water seperator on long runs of pipe.

All this car talk has brought up a good idea for me. I have finally settled on a New Year's resolution (a little late...). I am going to get my '66 Bug on the road safe and legal this year. Im not planning to have paint and body done this year, but driving reliably safe and legally. Its got "patina" and loads of character right now, but I already have close to $4K into it and you wouldn't even know it by looking at it!

Anyways, finally finished my chores, last load of laundry, dishes, house clean, kid clean and sleeping, even got a long term bike project outta my shop today! I think I deserve a glass of Bourbon! Who am I kidding, like I need a reason...:p

Cheers!

Good call, I'm going to have to decide what to do on a long term basis. I have a spot in the grinding room for it \ but may put it in a shed on the side of the shop or something. I might pour a small slab for it then too... I have to keep it warm here to use it in the winter so I am still not 100% sure about everything yet.

Thanks for bringing that up, I want the compressor to last!

I might plumb in hard lines later, right now I am going to keep it simpler. I still need to buy some fittings and a moisture filter too...

Good to see you AWC.

Sounds cool on the VW's! I had a 74 super beetle for a while, it was fun. That is a lot of hp on a bus! lmao on the braking

That will be nice getting the 66 bug going too! I am going to do some work on my 62 Ford this year...

We made a potato gun in high school that was awesome, it would shoot a deflated tennis ball about 200 yards... just unreal. We actually used right guard! One day I will make another.

Well its fleamarket day. The wife is tagging along with Zyler and I, going tool hunting today.

Will report back later...

Oh, and my "short bus" is my Chevy tahoe, kinda sorta a wagon. It is actually called the Short Bus, too, tink of the little school buses.

Good morning y'all . Xander ,good luck at the flea market today.
Ya know ....I still think the 60's was the best decade for cars. They just looked good .......ya know.
A 66 bug was my first car. Some evil motherhugger stole that one.FIST SHAKE!!!
Xander is right I have not drove my Volvo in about 4 years.Nothing wrong with it,I just decided that I could save 300 bucks a month by riding my bike.
Back to knives,I modified a Svord mini peasant yesterday. It is super thin now.

Nice looking frickie! I bet it is a slicer now... I like the Svords style.

Cool on not using the car, I used to bike a lot when I lived nearer to town.

Got you on the Tahoe Xander, for some reason I thought you had 2 VW's... I hope you score something cool at the flea market!

Well, not a whole lot of the stuff I was lookin for. I did get a beat up KJ Eriksson Mora for $5, though. It needs a regrind, the handle is a little loose and just generally grimey. My first mora, too! It has a funky little guard on it that I may take off, but I don't know yet. Might try my first center seem sheath too. Pics in a bit...

Kevin, how long did you have my bug before it was sold to AJ? Is tht why you got it, to replace your lost first bug?

Nice work on that Svord, I see you figured out the diamond knot, too. I'm hopefully going to get som shop time in today, finish some work I need to get done and shipped out. Hopefully handle that little whittler, HT some stuff, maybe put that mora to the grinder. Hopefully!

Daniel, if you can, build a small shed or room onto the outside of your shop to put the compressor in. My brother has his that way, means no lost shop space and a lot quieter

Xander cool on the Mora! I can't wait to see it restored...

IMWILSON, that sounds like a plan, once the snow melts I will try to do that. I know it will drive me nuts being so loud! It was the original plan but winter sidelined me....

Talk to you soon on those endmills!

Here is that Mora, looks like a good match to my DFK tanto, too! I'm thinking I'm going to remove the guard, it is poorly fit and its chrome plated and peeling. Handle is plastic and the ferrule is chrome as well. Who knows what will come of this knife, its going to get a facelift fo sure.

And I don't want to hear any bad mouthing about grinding on a Mora or I going to have my thug come handle the situation! His name is Baby Bear, but don't let that fool you, he will punch you in the nuts when your least expectin it.
