taking a break here, about to go work on the compressor some more

It is 95% done, I just need to replace a broken drain valve and I should be good to go!

Broken drain?! Have you even used it yet, lol!

Just got home from work, had an awesome lunch today...imported prociutto, local peppers (Bruno's waxed peppers, I don't know their distribution range), fresh focaccia bread with cheese and jalepeños, fennel, dried tomato and dill baked in. Little bit of mustard and mayo just to keep it from being too dry, and cut into slider sized pieces. Simply an explosion of flavors and textures!

Got an ice cold S.N. Pale ale in my hand, playin some Black Keys on the turn table and have pizza on order. Time to chill out.

Peace

That looks incredible! Sounds great too... hey nice knife even!

I know... broken already and not even used. I overtightened a screw and snapped it. It must have been garbage to snap it that easily but I did get it going! I am excited, it does work well! :D

Black Keys... nice! They rock, I like the newest one a lot and rock the older ones a ton.

Morning!

Played around with the new camera a bit last night. Just taking pictures of random things around the house...

As you can see there are hundreds of creepy ass owls in my house! Brandi has collected them for years. I gave up on fighting for free shelf space a couple years ago...

Have a good one y'all!

That was awesome! Jade really liked it, lol. We had goats as a kid, they were funny.

Those photos look good! Nice depth of field (I think, lol) to them.

I had a crazy busy day yesterday and have so far here... right now I'm eating pizza while waiting for my multietch to heat up. Ti ano time!

I wound up signing 12 keychain tools, 5 knives, 9 CC Knives... acid etched and tumbled the keychain tools... Chamfered the big holes by hand on the 9 CC Knives, ground the CC knives main bevel and swedges (man those mini swedges were tricky!) there was more too... :D Usually just signing that much gear takes a day and a half.

And I need to get a photo and post the key chain tools!

Afternoon!

Had a good day at th flea market. Beautiful weather, not too crowded. I scored a beautiful old machete in need of a new handle for $10. This thing is awesome, Martindale Alligator brand, made in england, 18" blade and full distal taper. Super fast and light in hand, carbon steel with great patina and no edge damage.

Brandi scored a new in box Foodsaver vacuum sealer for $10! I think she got the better deal! We also went over to Best Buy and picked up a new Microsoft Surface tablet w/ keyboard, that thing it damn nice! Got to play with the new camera some more today, still need to upload the pics. I also dug out a couple of my old film cameras, my 1948-51 Kodak Tourist folding bellows, medium format 620 roll film and my Bell & Howell Electric Eye super 8 movie camera. The movie cam has all th original manuals, paperwork, and lens filters!

Wow all sorts of cool stuff!

The machete is just classic, great design and the mark is too cool. I would have picked up that for sure!

When I am rich I'm buying about 10 machetes, I am always drooling over them online. I want a big tall bladed one, one like you got and a massive four footer.

Foodsaver - those are sweet! We have not used ours in a while but it is bad! Crushing cans style...

The cameras are just awesome, my parents have a couple like those. The ones you have are in just incredible condition!

This reminds me, I have an old reel to reel I need to test. I bought it because it has a tube amp built in!

A couple non conventional uses for a vaccuum sealer, packing bearings with grease before installation, turbo boosting meat marinating, resin impregnation laminating.

I'm going to look through my handle materal and try to get the machete ready for it tonight, I'm also considering dropping the point and stretching out the belly to give it a more cutlass shape and a better point for fine use. This thing is lightnin' fast in hand with that distal taper, much more balanced than any other machete I have handled. The company is still in business, too.

A collection of random shots

This album contains just a collection of random shots with my Nikon D200 as I figure out the controls on it. This album will be updated frequently. If you see duplicates that means one has some PP done to it and I am not done with it yet.

Awesome photos! I really like the bamboo leaves... and hey cool tanto!

I like your plan for the machete, that will be nice! Fast with the weight in the right spots.

I took a HF machete down to a nasty zero bevel and was surprised by the performance. No problem taking down a 1" scrub oak in one whack. Of course I hit tons of rocks and trashed the edge... It's fun modding machetes!

Morning Guys!

Good morning y'all.Today is my last day in sunny California.I'm heading out for Cincinnati tomorrow .Do you know that there is not one freakin' Spyderco dealer in that whole city!?:confused:I was planning picking up a Endura with 189 zdp when I got to town so I did not have to deal with the airline BS.
Xander, dude you are on a roll of scorring awesome new toys! I think your idea about the machete sounds awesome.Be sure to take a picture of it with you sweet new camera.
Daniel,I was surfing Youtube and found this check it out.

Hey fbc, I actually saw a similar show that studied the Ulfbhert viking swords. They were often counterfeited because they were in such high demand. They also had cutting exercises using pigs and mats, pretty impressive.

I've gotta check that!

I just got in from Farmington, NM with groceries and mailing supplies. I'm making Tom Kha Gai soup for dinner... anything with coconut milk, fish sauce and lime juice is my thing lately.. we make a lot of Thai Curries too.

Wild on the cutting tests, the Japanese did some ummmm.... interesting stuff too.

Yeah, my dad was a boy when the Japanese occupied parts of the Philippines during WW2 and he was witness to a lot of that horror.

There's another show that has a guy doing the sword testing, cutting through a pig with what's supposed to be a counterfeit-type Ulfberht vs one that's properly made.

Don't worry Daniel,Your secret is safe with me. Who would think to look for bigfoot in a knife workshop? Is that why you snowboard to the shop,to cover your tracks?
