I can use Ti socket head screws for the grip and backspacer- but that means I'll have to tap the Ti liners for thread. :(

Short attention span faltering...

No biggie making the washers... tapping no big deal with drill press... fidning all the right parts is tough though! I feel your pain. :)

I have steel chicago screws- I might just order a bit of Ti, and some CF to make a quickie frikkie to get the wheels spinning.

Daniel,I am stealing all your frikie pics and posting them in my photo thread ...............OK?
Bako, I want to see this friction folder of yours!

FBC- I posted my first rendering of it upstream a page or so, in this thread. It's an unholy gorgon of a thing, with a big fat ass.

Damn, the It's It is the best munchie food ever! That stuff is just amazing, cookies, ice cream and the whole thing dipped in chocolate!

I tried drawing a frikky this evening, but I got sidetracked

Bako, if you want the anodized look for your hardware, you could always get satin finish bolts then heat color them. Obviously you wouldn't have the full range of colors that Ti can get but it would still work for bronzes and dark blues.

That would be cool. I might heat color the spine of the 1095 knife I am keeping just for kicks.

My next damascus tantos will have heat colored handles under the wrap... I want to make some so bad!

Maybe polish the outer part of the chainring that gets wear after the heat coloring for a two-tone affect... On a high wear piece heat coloring on steel can get worn away... it is not as tough as anodizing.

Good idea Matt!

Morning gang.

Rockstar and doughnuts this morning! Always a great breakfast, especially when it follows a short stack of toasted pancakes for dinner the night before.

ditchya make sure it fits on your drill press table? I have one that doesn't. Also, a tip for leveling your work in the vise, chuck a small bit, like 1/16" or 3/32" bring it down to just touching your work piece then lock it and travel one direction. If the bit bends as you're tramming the piece, that end is high. Also, drill presses aren't designed for side loading, so don't do anything harder than kydex! That chuck flinging out at 3200 RPM isn't fun.
