Asparagus margaritas are friggin amazing! Love those things.

Good work on the dashi dood. I really need to get one done, maybe I'll grind one out quickly this weekend so I can HT it with my other stuff.

That looks great FBC! I finished one almost exactly like it last night except for the sheath, great minds think alike I guess :p

Have I mentioned lately how much I *hate* the Presta Valve?

What the hell is it with those things, anyway? Mussolini's revenge from beyond? I can't seem to fill tire without shearing those little POSs off at the end. Downtown Dangertown is filled with what we call "Sidewalk Diamonds", and I STILL never get flats because of the Gatorskin Ultras- but half the time I fill up a tire I tweak or shear the valve head off entirely.

Marnon y'all.

Bako, if you are shearing the head off of a presta valve, you are not doing something right! Maybe buy short valve tubes, of get a couple presta valve adapters so you can just use the air compressor at the gas station.

That reminds me, Kevin(!), I need those transmission parts! I wanna get the wifes new bike rolling.

Good morning.Thank you all for the kind words! I have to go to work in a bit , I am really 2nd guessing giving my job a months notice. I just want it to be over already! Y'all have a great day!!!

A month is some good notice. If I ever leave my job, it'll take months to find, then train the next monkey.

Kevin, I feel your pain. Back when I was a manager there, I gave two weeks notice and ended up telling the district manager to F*** off and walked out with 3 days left. I never cared about burning tht bridge, the DM was gone just a couple months after that ayways.

Well, we ended up not going to the asparagus festival today, just were burnt out. So we went to the flea market this morning instead. I scored a couple vintage shaving brushes to restore, and a fantastic score on a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AF lens! I just bought one of these lenses a couple months ago used in average condition without the box or paperwork for $89.00 and got this one in the original box, with paperwork, a UV filter, and a front lens cap for $20.00! I don't care if its a duplicate lens, I just couldn't let that deal go! Don't know what I'm going to do with it just yet, either.

Sounds nice! The flea market should start up here soon, lots of fun. Nice score on the lens too!

I wound up taking a half day off, we went and got some meat to BBQ tomorrow after cruising around. I found out we have wild asparagus here but it is ready next month or later.

Nice! I think I'll start some 'cue for the weekend tomorrow. I'll just inform the boss that's what's for dinner some time this weekend. It'll give me an excuse to do up a brisket to take out to Geoff at Tuffknives for hooking up my knife so nicely.

Something weird happened to me today. I was down at the shore property, letting some guys drop off some gear for the rebuild. The first floor has been curtained off with plastic, and I haven't bothered going upstairs at anytime. Today there were guys coming up and down the stairs, which is now a construction zone too. I don't ask too many questions, but this was weird- it turns out the second floor was destroyed too, but not by the 'cane. Two days after the power came back on line, a second-floor heat exchanger burst, and filled the entire first and second floors with steam for two days. EVERYTHING is ruined except the third floor, which is behind a tight-fitting set of doors. The place was built on spec by a guy named John Mirenda, who had a show on TV about building outrageous custom houses to spec.

There is NO WAY in h-e-double hockey sticks this place is going to be ready for shore season.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAHHHHHH!!!

Lest I should sound too gleeful at their temporary inconvenience, this means the very BANE of my life- spending 4 hours in my car every day for four months on end- won't be so damn baneful this summer, which is number 15 on the job. That means 4 hours a day for KNIVES! WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Tovarisch Sasha and I are getting to work this week on some stuff from my frikkie, to an idea I have for a stop pin-less frikkie made entirely of Ti.

Have a good week, lads!

I don't see why one is necessary for a frikkie, if you machine a stop into the inside of the scales.

I'm thinking spacer-less grip with milled stops for the ricasso and tang...
