7" total, 3" blade, .094 S30V or .113" CPM3V, same lines as my latest tantos (Japanese style)
I have a drawing I need to locate...

I have my prototype almost ready and the CPM10V blade is heat treated... I'm saving up for a disc sander to grind the flats on my 10V. It's simply too hard to hand lap once hardened, lol I tried! Usually blades come out of heat treat with a tiny warp (.001"... one third of the width of a hair) and I need a good way to get them back to dead flat and parallel post heat treat. I'm also planning on buying some CPM154 or Z-finit so I can get to business on them. next time i'll prototype in a steel I have worked with before... otherwise I'd have these out by now! I'm really excited about them and will be keeping one to carry myself, the Japanese tanto shape is so ideal for general use. They have the best blade to handle ratio of my folders, longest blade, same size handle, under 4 oz with all Ti frames!
The fixed blades I'm considering will be very close lines-wise with the tanto folder...
Time to go grind and pontificate this possible fixed blade!

Look at this crazyness! Someone gave it to me the other day. Just dug around in his backpack and came out with this and asked me if I wanted it!

I have a few knives of that sort.. they get thrown at hard objects til they break.. then sit around a bit longer, then eventually meet their final resting place: the dump.
Daniel, show some love! Get some raw pics of what went down!
Oh, and if you do something interesting and unusual with a frickie I might need to add one next month..

Pics - will do! I got a ton done yesterday but want to do just a bit more before I show off what's going on...
I'm going to continue to keep up the progress updates, etc! It was tough with a newborn but I'm getting back going now. I want to get this forum going at full tilt... rally! :emot-yarr:
KCT's are coming up, the S7 one is almost ready for glue up after more work on the tang yesterday, Backpackers will be going out to a dealer tomorrow! I have a bunch more fixed blades going too, veggie peelers and dammy dashis are up soon.
Frickie - check! I have two almost ready. these will be constructed differently as I am going to spacers instead of standoffs... I even got some cool Jade G10 spacers.

That's a cool game!...So here's a design I have finalized and even have some parts wj cut!
I have debated releasing my designs before the knife comes out, do you guys have any thoughts on this?
I'll have more information about this one later... it will be released after my upcoming Tanto Framelock! This has been in the works for a long time.
Goal - overbuilt, super strong folder that slices and carries well! External and internal stop pin, backspacer, concealed lanyard pin, jimping and choil!

I have came close to milling a slot in a thick piece of micarta I have... very tricky to keep the slot "square" with the pivot hole. I might make one just to keep...
That reminds me I need to finish that monstrous fricky I started, I need to heat treat the blade.

I like that folder design... what steel type and thickness? A couple mill grooves on the non lock side and I might bite.. though I'm waiting on another folder still

Thanks! I have some blades in CPM-10V... I'm gong to order some more steel too, probably Z-fiNit. .125" steel for both with a possible thicker blade later.
I'm probably going to do a removable external stop pin in the blade, it will screw in...
.190" scales like the RF1 or .140" scales like the RF2... milled or drilled to reduce weight on most. Inside milling, outside milling, 4 hole pattern running parallel to spine above lock bar...
But yes... tanto first!
