Today's flea market find, an original Wrist Rocket for $2.00! I'm guessing this one from the 70's based on the end caps. I put a new Trumark tapered band on it and polished it up. Good to go! This is my second vintage WR-1 model, not the best shooters because they flex, but fun and super light weight.

Yo!

Nice score Xander! I had a foldable one like that, it was super cool.

We took the day off and went for a drive this afternoon... lol I'm about to set up a tiny vermicomposting bin, I bought a few red wigglers and a 3 gal rubbermaid container so we can compost our food scraps... just something fun to do!
 
Great idea, Daniel! We used to compost when we had the hotel. I wish more peeps would do this!

Composting always sounded like a good idea to me, but just remembering to keep it turned and keeping the dogs out would be tough for me. Instead I just use the manure from my rabbits in the garden. Got a pretty good colony of crawlers and red worms going already in my yard.

I've got a couple folding Trumark wrist rockets as well, plus some finger braced ones I've made too. Always good fun!

I hear you on the maintenance Xander, I have tried an outdoor compost bin a few times and never really got into it... especially here with the snow. This one is probably no less effort but we can keep the worm bin inside and just add scraps to it. We'll see! :D I have no real need to do this but what the heck... should be entertaining. I hope to have a large population by summer and add the castings to my raised beds.

Today... more knives! I'm hoping to heat treat some knives this week too, I wish the dry ice was closer as it is getting tricky to do it all in one day! I want to ht some AEBL...

I'm hoping to glue up a 240 Gyuto today, it is looking stellar! It's a big knife, no joke on the hand rubbed finish! I had to go get a bigger piece of Ironwood for the handle too. They say the very first Bowie knife was originally a kitchen knife and I believe it, this thing is like a sword. :D

Backpackers! 16 going this week, I'm shutting down pre-orders after the next two. Big thanks for the support everyone!

I've been grinding, filing and chamfering like a maniac all day... time to chill!
 
Went gold a couple days ago, but got chastised in another arena here about not changing my user group, so now I'm GOOOOOOOOOLD!

The bear was a dog toy for the foster dogs at work that they chewed the eyeballs out of, thought it was rather creepy and liked it!

Yer getting old Rolfie, I was up just after that getting ready for work! But, getting up early and being woken up early are two different things!

Had the "Walk in" from my boy this morning, lol, asking "what are you and mommy doing?" Geeze, I need to put squeakers in my son's pj's so I can hear him coming down the hall!!! :p


Saw some new pics of the double black Deba today from its new owner, hot damn that's a sexy knife!

I got a knife for christmas! A non knife buddy picked up a Helle for me and said he liked it's looks and thought I might like it too. Sweet :D Thing came nice and sharp, feels great in hand...

Family arriving tomorrow for a brief visit, enjoy your last few days of 2014!
