Good morning y'all!
Daniel, what is this Mega RF2 that you speak of?!! Sounds killer!
X, where is this all you can eat sushi located?

Kevin, it's called Fuji Sushi Buffet in Elk Grove. Lunch is something like $14 bucks a person, dinner a little bit more. It's pretty good sushi too, not the best, but it's about quantity, not quality, lol! Best to get there early, a line starts forming 40 minutes or more before they open. You can also order pretty much anything you want, they have 4-6 sushi chefs working the boats and making custom orders too.

I might try sushi one of theses days, if I can ever find a place that batters and fries it.

That isn't hard, most places will batter and fry it now! I had soft shell crab and salt water eel deep fried with avocado and spicy mayonnaise topped with tobiko!

2.5 hours to go!!!

Yeah actually there are alot of sushi items that are fried, or at least have lots of fried ingredients. Everyone thinks of sushi as raw fish, but thats more sashimi. Ive had deep fried california rolls, which have absolutely zero fish in it. Japanese baked lasagna. Which tastes way better than you would think. Plus things like lisa lisa roll, cream cheese around deep fried asparagus rice, and crunchy stuff all around it, yum.

Time for supper!
Guys- I just got mt tanto higonokami. I REALLY dig this folder. Do try one.

Couldn't start celebrating soon enough!!!

I was a little sad leaving today though. I really liked some of my coworkers.

-X

Hangover day for X.
I do not miss those mornings. :D
Thanks, Kevin! If a larger tanto higo becomes available, I'll be on it. At this time, the higo is my favorite folder.
btw, Daniel nailed a really cool higo design.
Time for church. :D

Morning!

Rolf, hangovers are for amateurs! I'm feeling fine today. Might even go for a breakfast beer, that's what lazy unemployed people like me do, right?! :D

No plans today, we'll see what comes of it!

Yo!

We finally made it out of the house yesterday and went hiking La Plata Canyon... found some Royalite rock collecting which was fun. It's rare stuff, only from one site in the world and looks like grape bubblegum.

Catch up day today!

FBC I have knives coming your way soon, they are packed up an ready to go! :D

Congrats Xander!

Have a good one Rolf!

Mega RF2 - .315" blade for someone here!

You guys talking sushi make me hungry... I want a spider roll now! Did you know that one of those octopus legs will stick to a wall? just sayin'!

Oh yeah... I built my blown forge burner last night, it was really simple and I can't wait to crank it! My pipe section for a forge body will be in sometime next week.

X- Have a shot with your morning beer.
Daniel- Thanks. Get a pic of your forge when it's completed.
Whoz going to order the first DF forged knife?

Rolf that Higo sounds super cool, I am buying one eventually. White steel was a nice choice! I have been testing some and it gets as sharp as anything I know of.

I'm going to document the forge build here on Bladeforums! I have almost everything in now for it... I might even do a second mini forge build with the leftovers if I have enough.

I have my rr track out... found a good stump for the anvil stand and a trashed BBQ cart for my forge stand! lol

Yeah who wants one! :D

I plan on Kwaikens and Pocket Fighters at first, hopefully I can forge something that big with my current "anvil." Brut de forge stylee!

If Daniel makes a small B&T or 2.5" utility/hunter I'll send him some 100+ year old Bois d'Arc I got from Colorado to handle it with for me!

Here's a good video from Lin, watch his hammer very closely, he doesn't say it at all, but he'll turn it over for different ways to move metal different ways.

Xander I have watched that video a few times over the last couple of weeks! The forge he has is really cool too.

Rolf is sending me tongs and I ordered some z-box tongs... :D I have been envisioning the process and realized I better be able to hold things tight and without killing my wrist. I think I can make the tongs Lin is using (once I get the other tongs!) they look really versatile.

I like how he straightens the edge at 6:30... it's things like that which interest me. Tai Goo showed a forged/stock removal blade he made where he bent the bar stock one time into a Kukri shape... with stock removal I'd need a 5" tall piece to grind away.

Isn't that building cool!

Yeah that video if you watch it really closely shows lots of little tips and tricks even though he doesn't say them. Btw, his hammer looks like just a standard heavy ball Pein that had the ball flattened. So that might be a good first project. His tongs looked like a 1/2 round jaw.

Rolf, we killed the bottle of tequila last night, no shots this morning, except for espresso.

X- Have a shot now.
Daniel! I put some oil, meybe it was gas :D, on those tongs. Wipe it off before you use them. I hope you have them by tomorrow.
Nice night, DFerz.
