The forge is looking great!!!
I really like the ss construction and size... very nice design too! Nice setup on the anvil also, that moved metal fast! Good to see.
I'm getting some fittings together soon for my larger forge build... I want to get it going! I like that welded construction.
I've been helping my in-laws move all week... I'm back in the shop today! I'm cranking up the kiln for heat treat and finishing more up today.
The new mill will be getting some serious use soon... time for more framelocks!

I'm really excited about getting into forging and will build a small smithy soon. If it's metal I want to make something with it!
forge, cast, mill or grind! I'm pretty much caught up on older projects and moving forward to the future! Framelocks, EDC/Kitchen, Tools and higher end knives will be my focus for a while.
Kwaiken Framelock, Flipper, Military Framelock, AEB-L Backpacker, AEB-L Petty, Thick Ti KCT, Steel Tools, Forged Tantos with Sand or Tufa Cast Fittings, Forged Pocket Fighters... all in the plans for this year!

Daniel that video I shot at my work shop and the anvil came from the high school shop class they did not want it and didn't know what to do with it and before I ever started making knives like 5 years ago I told them I would take it. If I ever leave the school district it's coming with me
I like your burner set up better but I already had the torch so thought I would try it out.

I have never been spotted on video... my usual shop garb is a la Stevie Ray Vaughan "El Mocambo" era style with fur cape. They say I look a bit like The Stig.

I bet you would do good with the 30k setup from Atlas... I like the plug and play aspect. Blown burners are cool too, I am using a blown burner on my larger forge.

It's almost time for my breakfast beer, but I've been doing a bit of gunsmithing this morning. To cut to the chase, anyone know where I can get some 5/32 1080 or 1084? I only need about 6" X 1.5" piece. The sear for this old .22 rifle I've been working on is not available as a replacement, and is simple enough for me to make. It's just there is some peening on the engagement surface and I'm not sure if it's too far gone. Just want to have a back up plan in place before I start removing metal.
I'm also planning on making this rifle an adjustable trigger if I can get the geometry figured out. I'm pretty close but am having to check it in all states of motion.
Having fun! Gonna take little dude fishing again today after school, he's also headed to LA tomorrow morning for the weekend with grandma! That works out perfect as it's that time of year I am forced to give waaaaay too much attention to the wife and more money than I have....anniversary.
Anyways, make it great!

Thanks! Military Framelock - It's been in the plans for a year now... I have some of the parts wj cut and want to make it happen soon! It's a big folder with great ergonomics that will really make it stay in the hand, big useful choil that doesn't take up too much blade real estate... jimping, stop pin and big blade through stop. Overbuilt yet different than most in the genre as it will be lightweight and a slicer... high grind and .125" blade!

I'd send you a piece of steel but I'm pretty much down to it on stock in that size... and no 1084! I need to do an order with Aldo just to have a variety of steel on hand to play with. I want some 1084 so I can forge and heat treat without using the kiln.
I spent all day working on this Tsuka-Maki wrap and it was well worth it! I finally learned the traditional knotwork on each side of the handle and it looks killer! I just soaked the wrap in epoxy.
Forged W2 tanto... I'm proud to say that it is coming along nicely with a way better hamon than I had hoped for. Cloud activity!
