I can work one up pretty quickly in CAD.... I'll do that! It will have a very good ratio, the base design is my best blade/handle ratio yet. I literally spend weeks to get an extra few .001"s.....

This folder design you sent is awesome too... EDC to Construction to Diving.... it will do the trick and do it well!
 
Good morning guys!

My FB page Fairly Knives is down... FB is making me merge pages and I am deciding what to do. No big deal but if you guy were wondering...

I'm hoping to get in a lot of shop time today and will finish a bunch up! I'm hoping to make my counterbore fixture so I can get back to folders too!
 
happy hump day guys

Here is what I been working on the last few months. These are nickel 201 crucibles that go through my caustic fusions. This is one is not the best looking at all but you can see on the outer walls it gets that hamonish look. I had some better looking ones before but did not snap pics. The other picture which is hard to see but the material I work with has pink crystals which are pretty cool. It only comes out of the sand at around 750 C and is some type of mineral I need to look up.

Funny thing is our muffle furnace is made for orthodontics but it will also work for anything else. The nickel is very soft and malleable as it has been annealed at the high temps.

MrDrewBear that is really cool! I have seen those kilns for sale used and wish I snagged one, I like the size. Very interesting stuff, keep us updated!

I have some really old crucibles I need to dig up... they were for assay and from the mines here.

Interesting on the crystals too. My friend was melting down different rocks and using them for pottery glazes, the results were awesome.

I got a lot mailed out this morning and it's lunch time! I have my disc grinder almost built... it was more work than I had anticipated but will be a nice one!
 
So someone PM me today and ask me if I seen a "DFK Kwaiken CAD design" and I was like :foot::barf::eek:

Rolf just photoshopped that from an old smatchet design! :D

I'm telling you guys... I'm going to Release The Kwaiken!


But first... a trifecta of RF2's including the Mega RF2! I am one small part away from completing the disc sander too, that means faster made and smoother folders!
