Daniel runs on a 48 hour day.
Live-n Life, Daniel!!

:D I'm also going to put out my electronica album and do some big sculptures by the summer.

I'm also going to try to play more banjo and keyboard. I have a couple of Ukeleles to restore. I might build a traditional Mongolian guitar first. I play a bit of lap steel and think it might be cool to cast one but I better build a bigger foundry first.

I'm really going to get my 62' Ford Unibody going this summer too! 351 Cleveland!

lmao I also need to rebuild my 10" rock saw and level my 18" slab saw (this saw is the size of a chest freezer) I might file some paperwork on a claim I have been prospecting... I have a nice source of mineralized Fluorite with Chalcopyrite veins which hold a minor amount of Platinum. The same site has an 1880's era tailings pile with Gold bonded to Tellurium which makes the Gold pure black.

I'm also going to get my faceting jig and flat lap going again too. I was looking for some of my lapidary rough yesterday and found a 4# bag of Jade from Vermont... I was selected as the tester to cut the stone and was given the rough in exchange. The thing is the mine only had 14 pounds of Jade and that was it! It is actually too rare...

Man I'm bored... hardly anything to do! :D :D :D

Morning y'all!

Daniel, sounds like we were cut from the same cloth, far too many interests and far too little time!

I'm planning on building a damp box for traditional rust bluing, I'm also trying to figure out how to be able to convert it to a hot box for curing epoxy laminations. I will build my own Hill style long bow, just not sure when. Probably after I finish my current gun projects, and somewhere in there I'll throw in working on my VW, I've got a couple boats to restore, maybe a bike or two...

Mmm, cornbread, waffles and fresh fruit! Sunday morning hangover cure! I'm not the one hung over this time though, the wife went out with her girlfriend and got hammered, lol!

Coffee is brewing too.

Making it great!

I'll start working on that Rolf! :D

I want to see the rust bluing box when you make it! That sounds cool. I want to do some more of my old Plum Brown knives

All business here today... sharpen and mail out lots of knives!

I lapped RF2 frames and blades yesterday evening on the new disc sander... it took an hour or two or so compared to well over a half day of really hard sanding. This rocks! The finish is also much better which is most important. This is really going to rock on post heat treat blade!

X, those are nice fixie wheels .......do they come with fixie tubes and fixie tires???? Do you have any fixie valve caps laying around? ;):p
Daniel, That is killer about the disc sander! That gives you 3/4ths of a 1/2 day to make red tantos! :D
Rolf, I made a telescope when I was 5 or 6. It was made out of a paper towel tube. The deluxe version utilized a paper towel tube annnnnd a toilet paper tube for a higher degree of focusin'. :panda:
Have a killer Monday y'all!

Telescope? I just bought one on Friday I should have it by Wednesday :D I'll post some pics when I get it!

Have a nice week guys!!!

Kevin- Stick to yer table candles. :D
Hi Ben!
Did you guys see the CRKT Journeyer folder? itz cool!

Hey Rolf, that's a very tactical looking slippie!

Daniel, did you put a Phat blade on your new disc grinder? :D :D

You must just know because I started the Mega RF2 today!!! I'm actually cutting the bar for the blade this afternoon but the frames are lapped and I just did the pivot! I got some pics too!!! I'll start the thread and want to ask you some questions on the build too. :D Cool on the telescope too!

Rolf that folder is pretty cool, I like it!

Hey Kevin! That second telescope sounds pretty killer! :D

Please do tease me! :D

Hi guys.
Like WE need one more folder!
Only DF folders will do... as soon as they're done.

Yo!

Kev, no fixie tires or tubes for these wheels. But, I might have some fixie valve stem caps, you know the ones with the reverse thread lock ring!

I've been wanting to get a telescope lately, little dude has been asking to get one and I think any type of science at his age is a good thing. But, I'm at a loss of what some good less expensive ones are. I'd like to be able to possibly set it up with a motorized mount for astrophotography but that's down the road.

Just got home from work and am relaxing.

Make it a great one fellas!

Good morning guys!

Ben, I have lots of pics to upload later... so far just basic stuff but I want to document the process! It's going to get really good.

This new mill is killer by the way!!! Also just as awesome is this new construction method I learned for Folders...

I'm using blind holes to locate a dowel pin for alignment and my test knife is so tight it fits together firmly and can be carried/used with no screws holding it together. I can not shift it in any way. No pivot screw or stop pin and the blade still won't rub under lateral pressure either. Wha! :D  :D

I literally had to drag myself out of the shop last night! lol You guys have a good one!

Same here. We've been looking at equitorial mounted reflectors (easier to motorize later). Orion telescopes has a pretty good range - we're looking at their house brand in the 5-8" newtonian reflector ($300-600, with tripod and mount). Not ideal for astrophotography (Schmidt-Cassegrain or Refractors tend to be better for astro) - but good value, and still some performance. I'll probably just piggy back a camera on the telescope with it's own lenses - to do wide field, tracked shots of nebulae.
