Fall Bush Bash 2011. Camping/Bushcraft Event. October 14-16. Sequoia NF, California.

man I really wished I could go to that, sounds like a blast... beautiful area, ahhhhhhh, the envy seethes deeply.... :)

well at least I'll be there in spirit, or my knife will anyway :D

If you can manage to finish the damn thing!!! ;)

lol, tell me about it... I'm leaving out of state for a job here in a couple minutes so this weekends shot, and I'm slammed when I get back next week...

but no worries, I will take a serious stab at it when I get back... :D

Hey guys this sounds Awesome. How Kid friendly is the event? would you recommend me bringing my two young sons? ages 5&7 .

I don't think I can really say this is a kid friendly event because of the guns and knives that are laying around (and all the playing with fire that we do).

Some kids, however, are careful around stuff like that. So, I guess the answer is, "it depends." :)

Like Mike's saying, depends on the kid(s)...and probably how much effort you want to put into keeping a close eye on them. I have a 7 yr old niece that would be a disaster at something like this, but with a little attention my 10 year old nephew would be fine. I don't know...this is why I have pets and not kids. :)

We've had young kids before. Like Mike and Jason said, it depends on the kids and the parents. The kids have to mind and parents must keep them under control for safety reasons. There will be plenty guns and knives around.

For the shooting contest, the winner will get this knife or one just like it. It's a 4 1/8", 1095 blade..

Nice Ray! That means I better go hit the range a few times over the next months (and hope for a whole bunch of luck). My best chance will be a combination of practice and pouring sugar in Mike's gas tank so he can't make it.

Alright... there's no rule that I can't win two years in a row, right? 'cause that knife is sweet!

Do we get to know what is involved in the shooting competition before hand? How long is the range? Does my.....um I mean the knife come with a sheath?

Stitch, no need for an invite, just show up.

We can discuss your participation fee in private:D

I think i need to start practicing shooting my CZ i want that knife it looks awsome Ray. Or i could Bring my niece over and she would just beat ya all.. Stitch do expect to make the payment. John would tell you how much in private and i shall collect the fee..
As for kids bring them over we had kids as young as 5 i think and they had a blast. They seemed to have lots of fun and run around but never a problem and heck some of them done real well shooting guns too.

I have decided to leave my boys only because its going to be an 8 hour drive and they hate long car rides.
A questions about the area is this primitive camping or are there some facility's?.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll pm john right now.

lol... you know there's no fee, right? They're yanking your chain.

However, if you want the DELUXE campsite, with softer grass than all the other campsites, you can paypal ME a nominal fee of only $50, and I'll point it out to you when you get there. :)

So you're saying you know where to find the good grass? Somehow I'm not surprised.
