Fall Trackrock Hammerin?

Hi,
I just sent mail for reservation.
I need fire bricks and Satinite and ITC-100 if anyone is hualing in supplies.
Looking forward to seeing the group again. Summer has been a bitch, but things are looking up.
Thanks, Ken

The "Pod Man" commeth! Awright!
Shaping up, shaping up!
If any of you are coming early, let Mark and/or me know. We usually get out and do some things before the "rodeo" starts. Like he said.
A visit to Sandy's is worth any amount of travel and an unwritten mandatory for you new guys.
Mike's shop is really nice (if he didn't make you sweep it out for the price of admission). Kidding Mike.

I'll be traveling light this time. i'm bringing my hammer and some knife and hawk fodder. Hopefully one or more anvils will be free to use and somebody will let me use their forge for a bit. I cant wait. Sounds like we are going to have a big turnout this time . Yee haa.

Mark,

I am going to try to get down there about Wed.

Has anyone asked Darren Ellis if he'd be interested in coming down to sell? (And maybe he could be talked into giving us some tips.)

I can probably bring my MIG welder down if it would help. Of course, I'll be bringing my forge and anvil with me.

I sent Mr. Ellis an email but apparently they are away right now, this is part of thier automated response:
We are away from the office until August 10, 2004

:( i hope he will be there, i am going to try to make it this year also. :)

What camp sites are you guys stakin out? I'd like to get one in the same vicinity as the rest of you so as soon as you let me know I'll make a reservation.

Michael , Just tell them that you are part of the hammer-in group and they will know where to put you.

Hi All, I just got back from vacation...catching up on reading the forums... :)

I've penciled the dates in for the upcoming Track-Rock hammer-in and if my schedule permits, I'll definitely be there! :) I've been wanting to come since you all started holding this one and it looks like this will be the first one without a scheduling conflict for me, yeehaa! :) If I can make it, I'll bring the full compliment of supplies I carry as well as a few forges for us to use. Keeping my fingers crossed that it works out for me this time!

:)

Yep, back a little early. :) Vacation was good, got to ride out the small hurricane on the Outer Banks of N.C., and surf some bigger waves for a few days afterward, but I'm back home now.

I'm hoping I can make it too, I've seen pictures of the place and it looks like it'll be a great weekend of camping and hammern' some steel, planing to bring the wife if I come, we haven't been camping in too long...

:)

Hard to find a nicer bunch of folks and a more scenic place. Here's a couple of older pictures.

Dont know who the guys is with the overalls :)

The next pic is the shop they let us use

next pic is some of Pat Foggarty's collection.

Damn, Mark...the guy in the overalls sure is fugly :)

I plan to make this one. Sure enjoyed the fellowship and all at the one last fall.

Guys, give it your best shot at making this one. I can guarantee you'll walk away a better knifemaker.

Seriously some of the nicest folks I have hung around in a while. Nothing but fun with good people in a great facility.

Carl and Mark, if I can help with anything let me know. - Gus

Gus.....bring a display! :) :)

Who else is thinking about coming? C'mon people....this is a great gathering!

Hey now we're cooking! Think somebody ought to tell Frank A. we're coming?

Looks like several guys from the Ga Guild might show up. Kinda peaked their interest when I set some guy's pants on fire. Just kidding. Us smiths are gradually gaining in number and several wanted particulars on the event.
Wayne Hensley has even voiced interest in visiting on said date.

Mark, as we near, I more and more need that particular item to complete the "package". You close to shipping?

Darren, sure hope you make it down. Would be great to meet and talk "technical" stuff around a good campfire.
