Fall Trackrock Hammerin?

Mark, as we near, I more and more need that particular item to complete the "package". You close to shipping?

Whoops. I'll get on it tonight. couple days at best.

Never been to one of these before, but my wife and I are planning on coming over. I would hate to miss out on such prestigious company. Can't wait.

Darren, sure hope you make it down. Would be great to meet and talk "technical" stuff around a good campfire.

Hey Carl, as it looks right now, everything's good to go for Kathryn and I making it down, if not for the entire weekend, at the very least for a full day. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you there! :)

Just back from the Southeastern Custom Knife Show.

Had a great time yakking with everyone. Saw some of the gang there.

Talked to some folks about coming. Mark Zalesky of Knife World is interested in covering it and taking part in some way. Ken Durham said he'd love to but he's out of vacation time unless a previous commitment changes.

Saw some nice stuff. The bowie/scagle seminars were great.

Regards,

Pat

Hey Guys,

Still planning on being at Trackrock! (May even bring someone special with me. ;) )

Do you guys need me to bring my MIG welder down? My forge? Anvil? Any thing else?....

(Ken I just talked to Pat. I will bring your flower with me...just seriously forgot it. I'm really sorry, please forgive me!)

Pam

Hey Pam,

I wouldn't worry about the welder. They have a stick machine in the shop. Bring forge and anvil if you want. I've got two of my anvils on permanent storage at T-rock for folks to use.

Mark - count me in. I'll be there.

Darren - if you're watchin'......hope to meet you there with the forge. ;)

Hi Dan, Yep, I'm a watchin'! :) btw, you mean forges (plural) don't you!? :) We need to get you to order those solenoids....I'll email you this weekend about arranging that...

:)

Glad you guys can make it !!

Looking forward to meeting both of you face to face. You wont meet a nicer bunch and I guarantee you will walk away with more knowledge that you showed up with. Should be a hoot.

Either email or phone call works for me.

Mark - I'll be traveling around 1600 miles roundtrip....can I reserve a bumpy piece of dirt to sleep on?

1100 miles for me roundtrip :) I'll be sleeping in a nice cozy cabin :p If you stay 3 nights the third one is free. Not really all that bad if you think about it. They have plenty of nice red Ga dirt though. Just let them know that you are with the hammer-in group and they'll put you close to everybody else.

Hey Wilson.....I'd like to check out your shop. I plan on being down EARLY Sat.

Hey Dan....last time I got lost and drove almost 7 hrs and I live in NC!! See why I hate driving Mark? :D :D

Dan, cool deal, shoot me an email with your new phone number again, I can't find it...I'll give you a call this weekend. Also, I'm only about two hours from the Track-rock hammer-in, but if you need a place to lay over, we've got a fold out futon in the living room and you're welcome to crash at my place.

Mark, looking forward to meeting you and all the other guys at the hammer-in...I've been wanting to come to this one since you and Carl started it up, and it looks like this year I'll finally be able to make it! yoohoo! :)

Thanks for the invite, Darren. I'll be passing through Alabama on the way there, though.....:o

That's right! You know, I know you moved, but I kept thinking you were driving down from Maryland....I'm losing my mind, nah, I lost it a long time ago. :D

Hey guys, I just got off the phone with James Gibson and he may be coming up (or down?) with me. If he comes, I'm sure we can convince him to do a demo on either forging or flint-knapping...

:)

What should I bring.....All I have is some coil spring and a 4 pound hammer. My gear at the moment is for stock removal but I want to pitch in......or have something to work with while I am there anyway ;)

Just bring what you want. If your only going to be able to spend the day. You should be able to at least get something rough forged. You might want to bring your grinder and some belts if you get that far along to clean up the forge marks. I usually bring my grinder but it would be like going from a BMW to a Yugo. Home made POS grinder that it is.
