I heard the flipping action on those is amazing. The detent breaking is supposed to feel like snapping a glass rod. Then the Hawk Lock doesn't contact the tang unless it is fully locked or the blade is fully closed, so that way there is no friction during opening except the bearings.
Is it true that it has one of the best actions?
Absolutely. It's like nothing else. It even sounds great. I think their toggle detent is a major innovation. It breaks so clean and keeps the blade strongly closed.
That knife sounds like you're racking a round into the chamber! How is the lockup when open? Rock solid?

My BM Mini Onslaught leaves the ZT0452 in the dust. The detent is too hard on the ZT and I've had 2 and they were both the same. My ZT 0562 has better action than the 0452. I never understood this idea that the 0452 was the flipping standard that all other knives should aspire to. I wish it did I would like it alot more.Nick Shabazz did a video about it. He often discusses which of his knives have the best actions. For the longest time the king of actions was supposedly the Grismo Norseman. When he got the Hawk Dauntless he spoke about the action glowingly. It left me wondering if the Hawk Dauntless maybe is even better than the Norseman. (I don't know
He claims the ZT0452 has the best action of a production knife.
My favorite has been the Spyderco Slysz Bowie. Bought one back in January and it has been my most carried knife by far. It has ruined all my other knives for me. I recently picked up a sage 2 and it was disappointing because the Slysz set the bar so high. The only thing I don’t like is the blade shape. View attachment 815521

If I had to pick the prettiest, it's the Buck 197 hands down for me. That said, these are the ones I carried most:

That Benchmade has rapidly become my favorite Benchmade model of all time (eclipsing even my favorite slim and light trio of the 707/940/710). It's everything that was good about the 530, but better in all the ways the 530 had issues (blade shape, handle flimsiness, etcetera).
