Favorite 2017 Purchase?

Without a doubt, this year goes to CRKs and my ordered ‘Zaan Tanto.

My favorite slippie is the ‘17 TC Barlow Real Sheep Foot in cranberry.

I wanted to say it that way, because I feel both knives serve and have different purposes - IMO - but; the ‘Zaan Tanto would win hands down, as top choice.

It's been a good year, with two new favorites - slip joint and regular.

For slip joint, my spyderco ukpk in s110v with koa scales

For the rest - my sliverax (cut down a bit)

Can't wait to see what next year brings.

Either my lefty Spyderco militairy...or my Lefty Sebenza.

I mean....the mili opened my eyes to the lefthanded lock. But that Sebenza tho......

Hopefully my Bugout arrives before the end of 17', I think it might be my favorite and I haven't even handled one in person. haha

But, right now it has to be my blurple PM2, which was my first PM2 I've ever owned. Wow, what a knife.

Hard to go wrong with it. IMO, it's an amazing knife. Not particularly expensive, thin enough blade to be a great cutting tool, ultra-light and thin enough that even clipped to cotton workout shorts it doesn't flop around, my personal all-time favorite locking mechanism--the thing is all win, unless you hate the color blue.

You'd have to put about three or four Bugouts in your pocket to take up as much room as your your PM2, and they both provide the same length of sharpened steel . . .

I haven't bought as many knives this year as usual. I think I'm leaning more toward quality over quantity. I have three knives tied for favorite:

1. My small Inkosi with red linen micarta. That one was an exclusive from Knives Ship Free.
2. My Spyderco Slysz Bowie! I'd resisted this one for some time but as soon as Spyderco announced it as disco'd, I grabbed one at regular price. It says a lot for a knife for it to sell out at ABOVE the normal retail selling price!
3. I'm not much of a traditional folder guy, but I'm totally stoked for the GEC #78 Special Factory inbound from GPKnives! I buy a traditional from time to time and for some reason this particular model really resonated with me. I feel fortunate to have gotten in on one because they sold out FAST!

I suck at pictures but I'll see if I can do a little group shot and add it to this thread later.

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Favorite purchase of 2017
Enrique Pena Carbon Fiber/ Titanium Talon Flipper

Most carried of 2017
CRK Large 21 Micarta Insingo

I've had a few that I bought this year that were really sweet that I ended up selling (Strider MSC PT, Grimsmo Rask, JG Ranger), but favorites that I bought and kept would be Spyderco Slysz Bowie and CRK Small Micarta 21 Insingo, have a couple on order that could be here before the end of the year but will more likely be early 2018.

Looking through the knives that have seen the most pocket/hand time, most were bought over a year ago. So, although it's not the fanciest or flashiest, my favorite purchase of 2017 is a Native LW. Who'd've guessed I'd like a plastic handled pocket knife so much?

I would have to say my First Edge folders bar none best folders I have used. Your opinion may differ. As for fixed blades a First Edge 5150, Sam Stoner "The Whip" bowie(freaking gorgeous), Dan Leeper handmade edc/s.d. fixed blade and a Landi edc I just rec. Best cheapo without question is a Firebird axis folder which is actually a Ganzo. keepem sharp

PS oh yea one I carry a bit is a handmade bowie with a rosewood handle that is unsigned. Stellar build quality.
