Favorite Bark River?

Kev, what model is that?

It looks to me like Kev’s knife is a Fox River with Custom Scales that extend right to the plunge line.

A very nice mod. :D

Although I only have one BRKT so far, the Bravo-1, it is my favorite fixed blade. :)

Hard to pick.

Right now, it's a Full tang Kephart.

But, it could easily be a Canadian Special, River Recurve, Bravo-1, Aurora.................

I like the Highland and Mini Canadian for deer hunting. There is a Barkie for every job. Pretty good knives.

I like my Northstar in spite of its slightlly small handle, but I would like to try an Aurora or FT Kephart.

If anyone is looking to pick up a Bark River, DLT Trading Company is having a "Let's Make a Deal" "sale". If you see something that you like on their site, they are willing to accept a reasonable offer. Just email their customer service department. I just offered them about $12 less for a knife and they accepted my offer.

**I am not affiliated with DLT. If this is considered "spamming" please remove the post and accept my apology. I am only trying to help everyone pick up a good deal on a knife***

I really like the smaller BRKT's... Mini Northstar, Little Creek and Kephart Companion. It's great to have a small, but stout knife that can go anywhere.

You guys have some really nice looking stuff. But, with what they cost, does it bother you to carry them back country?

Raybadge,

What they cost? They pale in comparison to some other makers. Think of your knife as life insurance. For what they cost, it is worth having a blade that will not fail. I always say, buy the best you can afford. Most of the great BRKT bushcraft/camp series are under $150. How much do you pay for car insurance? For home insurance? For any other kind of insurance. I guarantee $150 is not that much to spend.

Like Kev says, they're really not that expensive.

I’ve got many of mine in trade or from other individuals and I would guess an average price has been more like $100 to $125 for a Micarta handled knife.

Plus for the cost of shipping Bark River will re-sharpen and polish your knife back to like new condition.

And if you damage it in any way (blade or handle) they will fix it at no charge.

A quality knife and sheath, plus a lifetime of service; the price seems like a bargain to me.

I have never owned a fixed blade I liked as much as the Micro Tusk Custom 2998 I got for Christmas.

Nice blade, love the sheath and made it a horizontal carry for my own needs.
