Favorite Bark River?

I don't have any Bark Rivers but if I did bite the bullet, I'd love to grab one of the new full tang Kepharts followed closely by an Aurora.

I'm also interested in the Bravo-1, but it's awful thick. Beautiful knife though.

I just ordered an Aurora, kept it simple and went with the black micarta and A2 steel. It should be here Monday and I can't wait! It will be my first Bark River :triumphant:

Hunter Sharp... way to dredge up a ZOMBIE thread. But, Bark River makes some great knives. My literal EDC is a Mini-Canadian. I have had one in my pocket since Bark River's Barn era... it is one of two models that I have more than one of. The Mini-Canadian just speaks to me as the perfect EDC. The bigger brother of this... the Canadian Special, is the only other model that I have more than one of... I feel that it is the perfect do it all mid sized knife of the line.

I've been on a BR Grasso Bolo craze lately.

I couldn't narrow it down to just one. But my current favorite "top 3" in no particular order would be:

The more Barkies I acquire, the less interested I am in a lot of other knives these days...

I have a north star my only BR I like it so far, cuts alot of oranges and vegetables for me.

I really like the looks of the canadian.

The more I spend time with it, it's a really versatile design. It will do just about everything I need a knife to do, and do it really well. And don't be put off by the finger grooves (which I was suspicious of initially) - they're pretty mild and you can still hold the knife a number of different ways. If I could only have one knife, it would be high up on the short list.

I don't own a Bark River knife. Originally I was very interested in the Bravo-1, Aurora. Glad I didn't buy. I will probably end up getting a knife similar to what I would actually use, versus some wall hanger. My choice will probably be the Woodland Special or similar sized BR.

22 -

The Woodland is a great medium-sized BR, as is the Mini Fox River. The new BR Trailmate has replaced both of those for me, though. All of them have blades around 3.2," and I'm with you - those are the blades I use most by far.

I have many favorites, but these two are among the most versatile. Canadian Special 3V and Northstar EDC 3V. The Fox River and Aurora are high on the list too.

The Woodland Special is the Bark River I carry the most.

My Prototype is in CTS-XHP.

Very cool scales on that one, Mike. And a center hollow pin? I like.

The center hollow pin (and the corresponding larger hole in the tang) is the the identifier on the Stainless Steel Highland Special and Woodland Special prototypes.

The Highland Special in Crucible's CPM S35VN, the Woodland Special in Carpenter's CTS-XHP.
