Lately I'been really lusting after the classic western bowie design, but I'm kind of on the fence about it. I love the lines, the feel, and the history of the "bowie" shape but have been trying to talk myself out of one. Naturally, in support of bad decisions I want to see your guys's favorite bowie blades! Extra points if you have any recommendations for more affordable (<$200) knives that fit the style! (even still I'm far from opposed to seeing some more high end easy-on-the-eyes options too)

Like my CS Trail Master but this is my favorite, hands down....

The Blackjack Warner-Moran Rio Grande Camp Bowie.

Check out the Case bowie. I have a white handled one I really like although I admit that I mostly just coon finger and chicken eye it. Less than 200 bucks too.

My heavy bowie work is done by an older Japanese made Cold Steel Trailmaster, and I have some great Bark River bowies as well.

I am very fond of the Camillus Fisk OVB Bowie.

Liked the one I bought so much that I bought another one.

I have yet to figure out how to post pictures, but i have a western bowie usa bowie and i beleive you can find them under 200 bucks. A great looking knife with some history behind it.

My ColdSteel trailmaster is my favorite bowie, and my favorite knife to boot!

I've been eyeing the Bark River Teddy II lately. A beast to be sure, but a nice styled Bowie. A little over your budget maybe at $250 for micarta or $300 for fancy wood, but it is worth a look.

Sorry for quoting this picture here too - but is this mighty blade still available or discontinued pls!? Never seen this one before anywhere... Both - knife and sheath are so beautiful, I love classic sheaths, made of thick quality leather, oh love that smell of leather too! :):):)

Hi mate

I am huuuge fan of big Bowie blades too, also prefer classics, because I believe that - you can not invent wheel any more -

Knifes of you desire (big O bowies) are less frequently made compared to other sort of knives, due to its limited use, but there are still plenty of choices available for your money that you are willing to spent - <200 USD

I will only name few to take into consideration what would be my choice to look at

Boker Arbolito El Gigante
Down Under Knives - The Outback (new sheath version)
Down Under Knives
Cold Steel Trailmaster / Laredo / Natchez in O1 steel
SOG - Creed / Agent / Demo2 /Agent
Kyzliar Samsonov
Blackjack
Case Bowies
KHHI Bowie with power hammer
Himalayan Imports variety of Bowies
EGKH variety of Bowies

Just few comes to mind in the moment to look into consideration, I believe knife has to be eye pleasing first,if we don't like the way it look, we won't be happy with it..

wazu, that's a classic right there! You don't see the brass backed ones very often.

Bladescout, awesome pics! That is a beautiful bowie.

I found this knife under a trailer home that I had to demolish. It's a Pakistan copy of a Western 49. I had to clean it up a little and sharpen it. I'm sure it was a very low priced item but it has a full tang and crazy hard steel, what ever it is. I actually use it to trim trees and split kindling without the edge rolling over.
Just a funny story,
