Favorite Brand Folder

My favourite folder - Buck Alpha Dorado in 154CM. I much prefer it to my Spyderco Manix and Benchmade AFCK, in part because of its small size, but still sturdy enough to do the work of a much bigger knife.

I carry Mission MPF 3 TI PE or Steve Rice Heman Titanium Frame lock with titanium hardware. Someone mentioned something like most armor the knives are heavy, not here. They don't rust and their tougher than anything else I've run across, period.

I have a very deep attraction to my Burger EXK-1. I have allot of folders but the Burger is by far my favorite.
Hmm, I would like to have this folder or even better his bigger brother too. But they raised the prices at Burger quite much last year, the EXK-1 is now 235 USD and LEXK 370 USD ! I like these knives very much but I can´t convince myself that this is an appropriate price for a knife, that has N690 steel, G10 scales and just one ti liner that works as a lock. With any accesories (second ti liner, clip, carbon scales etc.) the price jumps up even more.

Used to love Benchmade and Spyderco, but since getting an Emerson A-100 and Izula I rarely carry anything else. Those 2 became my edc rotation

I use a Kershaw Blur for EDC. I carry one in each front pocket. One of them has been used alot to cut all kinds of things and the other never gets used to cut anything since it is a defense knife in case I can't get to the gun i carry.

I wouldn't mind seeing ESEE do a slip joint someday also. Maybe a single blade with a modern handle material like micarta or G-10.

I would like to see that as well. If anyone has any doubts about the potential quality or "heavy-dutyness" of a slip-joint, take a look at some of bigger knives GEC (Great Eastern Cutlery) makes. The most heavy duty folder I own is a GEC Northfield #36 Sunfish which is a huge hunk of steel, brass, and stag.

This idea is probably DOA though as the majority of modern people have no interest in such knife patterns today.

I find the concept of the multi-bladed slip-joint (especially when the blades are different patterns) to be ideal for the woods as you have multiple blades of different sizes and shapes to pick the right blade for the job.
