Favorite EDC Spyderco?

Anyone carry the Barong? Im looking into it; I carry and love my mini manix.

i used to only carry my barong as an edc, i found it a little large for most tasks. i never noticed it being too heavy though. but ever since i got my ukpk that hasn't left my pocket. i also carry a SE atlantic in my back pocket.

Sage 2 and caly 3(both g10 and cf) are my favorite spydercos for carry.
They beat these:
military
paramilitary
centofante 4
endura g10

I'm very probably getting a Stretch for my next knife. Debating on whether to go (cricket or tattoo Dfly) plus FRN, or just bust on the CF version. Looks like it carries great.

For the past 7 months or so, my favorite EDC has been a yellow PE Pacific Salt. I also bought another one in PE that I sometimes carry along with it. These knives are great users.

Now I'm really interested in getting an S30V Military in PE.

And lately the new FRN Stretch has gotten my attention, too. Sheez, it just never ends. "Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in." I already own more Spydercos than any other single brand, and my one-hand EDC knife/knives tend to be Spydercos.

I've called around to every distributor within hundreds of miles from me...every one that is listed on Spyderco's site and NONE of them carry the Military or the Stretch!

They all say they can order it for me, but I don't want to buy anything that expensive without ever having held it to make sure it is a good fit for me.

I have one ray of hope though...a Collectors West Gun and Knife show on Feb 7th. I've sent an email to the organizers asking if any Spyderco vendors will be there.

After trying out several diffrent EDC´s I found out that the smaller the knife is... the more I actually use it. So the tiny Spyderco Bug is my favourite EDC.

I know its a very boring EDC choice but I cant help it :D

The Bug its so small that I can use it anywere, anytime, without having to think of how people around me might react, the knife is soo tiny in the hand, no one notice it and no one gets scared. Its razorsharp, cheap and gets the job done. I wish Spyderco would make a highend verison of it though, perhaps with a "better" steel. But I guess that would affect the price and ruin the great fact that its almost free of charge today.

I like the light weight Delica with the full Spyder edge. Been my EDC or 18 months.

BlueSmoke

Ain't that the truth....:D

From the Para to the Delica to the Urban to the UKPK to the newest addtion the Sage II....its madness(ask my wife)

The Stretch and GB are tempting me as I type.

I dropped a Ti handle on my S90 military (carbon fiber). It boosted the weight from 118 to 162 grams., but I love the substanciality? of the frame lock.

.....I have never been a fan of big knives because I live in the city and would have no need for a large knife. They may actually be more harm than good in my case due to local laws and a sub 3" blade has always been enough.

Pretty much the same here. I'd feel awkward/self-conscious walking around with bigger knives here in a big city. Even though there's really no blade length limit per say. I EDC the Honeybee on my keychain, H1 Ladybug in jeans fob pocket, and either the G10 Dragonfly or G10 Caly3 clipped in right front pocket right now.

I was EDCing my Benchmade Mini Grip, Ritter Mini Grip or Delica4 for a while but the combination of the finger choil, G10 texture and jimping on the Caly3 and Dragonfly just blew the Mini Grip and Delica4 out of the water. Now that I think of it, a G10 Ladybug would be awesome!
The BM Mini Grip is clipped in my EDC bag as a backup.

Some EDC knife pron for ya!

Hi,

I'm actually looking around for that "perfect" EDC knife and have really taken a liking to the Spydercos. I currently only have a Delica and an Endura, but am looking for something a bit larger that is still legal.

Im also leaning toward a serrated blade, but am not set. I could just as easily get a combo blade or straight edge blade.

Any suggestions? I love the Police, but I have to check out the legality of it here in Oregon because the blade is over 4". I've been also looking at the Sage and Sage 2.

I appreciate any input, thank you!

If you're really looking for larger than an Endura, then the Sage/Sage2 will not offer much. Let me also recommend the Military, a classic and a nice addition to your budding collection.

FWIW, I mostly EDC a CF Caly 3, occasionally a vintage Kraton Stretch or LH Millie, but EDC'd a Ladybug for years.

I assume you're in the valley or PDX. If you were in central Oregon, you'd be welcome to come over and handle the Spydercos I have.

For me its the Delica. I have a Waved and unwaved. But the waved version gets all the love. I just love its size and ease of operation. I also love my Kuhkri as well. Since getting it the delica has stayed home a bit more.

I love my Centofante 3.

Just 2 days ago I was at a friend's house and his roommate had moved out and taken all of his can openers. Opened 2 cans of black beans with my Centofante 3 and it didn't leave a mark...we were both very impressed so I promptly bought another Spyderco (tenacious). I would have used my Delica Gen 1 but it is back at Spyderco for its first sharpening since I bought it in '96.

I'm up in Tigard. What part are you in?
Thanks!

Favorite so far in a good sized list is sill the ATR (although it's discontinued) I did order a Gayle Bradley for a Dressier Folder in testing I usually use a Ti ATR for that.

Obviously a lot of good edc choices from Spyderco. My favorite so far is the Caly3 CF.

I would go with the CF stretch, but it's a big bag of coin for that one compared to FRN.
