Favorite Large Folders?

My favorites (AND most used) folders are the full sized Benchmade Skirmish630BK and the Ontario Hossom Retribution. I've yet to find another folder that fits my hand better than the big Hossom Retribution folder, it feels like it was custom made for me. Both the Skirmish and Retribution are great knives.

What Tim 616 said. I often carry an Al Mar Eagle Ultralight. Either clipped or inside a pocket there is no perceived weight at all. Not a knife I would choose for camping but very efficient for common uses. F&F is first rate.

Custom Michael Cooper
4.5" blade 10 & 1/4" O/A
1/8" thick blade and a liner of the same thickness. I've had this for about 10years now, one of the first customs I bought from a BFC maker. Used and some would say abused, but still going strong

I'm partial to the Benchmade 710, but I always end up selling them shortly after buying, without even using them. No idea why. I've been through 3, I think. Now I'm jonesing to buy #4, argh.

Cold Steel is one of my favorites. In fact, we probably wouldn't have any long blades if it weren't for them.

RajahII_Vaquero.jpg

The Rajah II and the Vaquero 6-inchers, two great CS offerings!

ColdSteelVoyagers_1.jpg

A 6-inch and 5-inch Voyager, flanked by the Vaquero. CS used to polish the blades, but have
since stopped, which is a real let down.

Buck110Alaskan_4_Sm.jpg

Four inches of blued S30V stainless steel on a Buck 110 Cabela's, $70 last time I
checked. Such a luxurious finish is only available on a royal blue Colt Python, though
the process is much difference. Both finishes look a mile deep! It's amazing how many
people don't have one of these beauties! This photo does not do it justice.

A 4-inch CS Voyager and the 4-inch Cabela's Buck 110.

CRKTS-2_6.jpg

This is a large CRKT (4-incher) S-2. It has a titanium handle and an ATS-34
blade. It's called a "poor man's Sebenza"! It's really nice to have in one's
collection. No longer made, alas. This one cost me $25 shipped. Naturally
I got a bunch of them and my brother got a bunch more.

A Cold Steel Gunsite with a 5-inch blade. Those who got VG-1 blades are lucky.

You must be a lefty? I have a Millie between my arms right now and held it up - the right hand version would open up and if you had it on the seam it would killing the *ss crack area I'd think?
Nope... If you clip your right-handed Millie into your back pocket, and slide it all the way to the right-hand edge of the pocket, the blade is held closed by the pocket seam, and is also pretty much out of the way of being sat-upon.

Another vote for the Ontario Hossom Retribution - but the "2" version with the 3 7/8" blade and lighter 6.5 oz weight fits my needs better.

I've only got one right now, and it's the CUDA Maxx clip point. Wonderful knife, and built to last a lifetime. I used to own a CS Voyager XL and X2. They were both great choices, if you really want something big and foldy.

I have both sizes at Reese Weilands shop getting new black G10 scales and tip up clips. I wave modded them first.

if your looking for a large heavy duty assist the ZT0300 has a 3.75" blade. for just a big ass folder the Emerson supers commander has a 4" blade and ubr commander has a blade leanth of 4.4". there super ubr big

Big folders I own and like...

Rajah 1
Rajah 2
Ontario Retribution 1
Benchmade 710
Benchmade Dejavoo x2
Benchmade 975 (my first excellent knife)
Benchmade Onslaught (sold mine, mistake, will buy another)
Cold Steel 6" TiLite x2
Buck CSAR-T
Buck 560 Crystal Titanium
Smaller... Kershaw Boa, Spyderco Orange Manix 2

I would have sworn I posted a couple pics here, but since I can't find them, I must not have posted them.

Anyway, here are a couple pics of my Fox/Deimos SB. I took the wood scales off and rounded those points in the centerline of the handles. I also polished the back spacer once I discovered it was made from aluminum.

I love the rosewood scale on the Citadel Deimos knives you have. How do they compare to the Fox version?

The Rosewood handles are really comfy in my hand! I also like the unpolished bits on the blade which shows they are really handmade.
I live in Phnom Penh and here at Citadel they are really co-operative and you can basically order your custom made knife with any material. I have seen Deimos knives with cocobolo, bone and Ray skin handles! Also bought some nice Kukri folders with buffalo horn, rosewood and beautiful file work.
