Production I'll go for Rat as well. The Rat4 was an awesome knife I just wanted something a little "different."

Great company, great products, great warranty, great support. Can't beat em in the mass produce market. Much like Spyderco with folders and Stomper with the customs. I have a few of each kicking around.

bark river, if they count, do a really good job for a good price.

if they don't count, i would have to say mora. awesome cutters, good steel, can take some abuse, and beyond that, they are cheap!!!

i have handled the RC 3 and 4, was impressed with the blade shape, handle ergos (for such flat handles they really feel good!), etc. i am turned off by the weight and the width of the blade though...

the RAT RC-4... because it's the best FB in the history of the world. Duh!

I've only got one, so for now, it's my favourite:D .It's a Grohmann#3 and I had one when I was in the Navy. I found it to be a capable knife back then, so it was my first choice when I decided I wanted a modestly-priced knife.

I don't have a lot of experience with different knives, but I have the F1 and love it. I have had it over a year, taken it on four camping trips, used it for dozens of bushcrafting projects, and it is still pretty sharp.

RC-3 is the best production knife I've had or handled. Great product and the company is great as well, as others have said.

My favorite fixed blade?

every damn one i own.....:D

most likely though EK's of any style or generation....its just a mistique of them for me.

got to go with mora on this one... I love my new Enzo but its new that it hasn'yt had a chance to prove itself to me yet...scandi grind is awesome for wood working and bushcraft in my opinion, is easy to maintain and easy to sharpen.. good carbon steel blades...

Right now it is the latest one I bought, a BKRT Full Tang Kephart. I was reluctant to buy one as Kepharts aren't really an attactive design in my view, but was surprise how comfortable the handle was and how suitable the shape was for woodcraft chores. I understand the blade height of 1" makes it rather narrow for a Kephart of this length.

Although i don't have much experience with many different knives, and I haven't put any of em through real hardship yet, right now my favorite is the BRKT Bravo-1. It just feels almost perfect in the hand (ramp is the only slight issue), convex edge is awesome, and I like the slightly more substantial heft to it. Close behind though, are the F1 and RC4. If the handles on both were a little more hand-filling, and I decided to convex the RC4, they might tie with the Bravo-1.
edit: got mora 510 and carbon clipper inbound so the hierarchy might change soon :)

At the moment it would be my Bark River Bravo 1. I do have several others that rate up there to, its a hard choice.

I'll go with Bark River. They are beautiful, durable and functional all at once - and the variety can't be beat! My Northstar might be The One, although I am really digging Scandis lately.

I have a pile of RC-knives (RC-3, RC-4 x 2; RC-6 x 2) I really like them a lot. Don't have many other production blades (Buck 119, diamondback, Mora #1). I like my customs just as much and often times more....I'm kind of like Langston. All of my knives were chosen with a lot of forethought except for the earlier Bucks (but even those I like). My favorite is really spur of the moment - what do I want to use today - type of question. Often, the most recent knife is my favorite, but it changes with the condition.

+1 for the Steel Heart Ergo. This knife has replaced just about every tool I used to take into the field. And it works for my smaller lady hands! :D
