Favorite scene from a movie.

Being a blues guitar lover the scene in Crossroads at the end Machio is dueling with the devils champion (played by Steve Vai) who has just pulled off this great riff and the devils laughing thinking he had won and the old blues man is thinking they have lost and then you hear this guitar...Gets me every time no mater how chessy it is.

LAST OF THE MOHICANS - final fight scene Chingachgook vs. Magua; one of the most timeless, spectacular scenes of any movie I have ever seen!

NOTE: TO ANYONE WHO HASN'T SEEN THIS FILM, DON'T WATCH THIS SCENE BEFORE VIEWING THE REST OF THE FILM; YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!

I have to agree with you. That scene in Last of the Mohicans where Magua and Chingachgook are fighting is the most epic scene I have ever seen! :D

If you havnt seen the red band trailer for the movie Kick Ass I recommend you watch it although it does have some bad language but a benchmade BG42 butterfly knife is mentioned.

A lot of great ones already mentioned in this thread.

One I can add is the "grocery clerk" conversation in Apocalypse Now.

Another is the bathroom scene in Full Metal Jacket.

I'm thinking of Al Pacino in "Scent of a Woman". The hearing/courtroom scene for Charlie. Priceless.

Lotta good ones.

Someone mentioned Unforgiven. I like it when Gene Hackman says something like: "You wouldn't shoot an unarmed man, would you?" and Clint says: "You should have thought of that before you decorated your bar with my friend."

I also like the Clint scene in Heartbreak Hill, when he makes short work of beating down the bodybuilder who comes in to the chant of "Swede, Swede, Swede..." The "Did I Fire Five shots..." in Dirty Harry is cliched now, but is still movie magic.

Who could forget Rocky running up the stairs of the art museum or the landing on the beach in Saving Private Ryan? Not really my favorite, but unforgettable...

I also love the scene in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles where Steve Martin is stranded out on the Tarmac, makes it back to the rental car counter and unleashes a tryrade of obscentities.

How about in Good Will Hunting where Matt Damon talks about his alcoholic father saying he could pick the belt or wrench to be beat with and saying: "I'll take the wrench."

Or, when Arnold says: "Come with me if you want to live" in Terminator 2.

Or, just about any scene in 300.

Great scene! "Its nice to see you cross the I's and dot the T's here" :DLOL

Had totally forgotten about that movie...i still remember when it came out, it was so over the top, so great :D! Excellent soundtrack too!

I dont know if its my favorite all time but its up there. I watched a 1967 samurai film called "Samurai Rebellion" last night and it was amazing. How far advanced Japanese cinema was in the 50's-60's compared to the rest of the world is truly stunning.

Its basically the story of a guy (samurai, who also happens to be the best swordsman in the clan), played by the incomparable Toshiro Mifune, who has been pushed around his whole life and took it. Nagging wife, inept bossess, etc. Well, when the emperor sends Mifune's son a wife, then the emperor decides he wants her back due to pride, Mifune decides to put his foot down. What follows is one of the coolest action scenes ever. Basically one guy and his two swords, taking on an entire army and kicking there asses!!! Its a tragedy as all the main characters die (as is the case in numerous samurai flicks) but this movie is a must see!

for me it is either the bank robbery scene in Heat or the gun fight scene in Tombstone where Doc Holiday kills Johnny Ringo

there are so many good ones, hard to pick favs, but here are some not mentioned yet.
I wont list the movie, just the line, see how many you know.

"They tried and failed?"
"They tried and died!"

"You talkin' to me?

"Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges!"

I was waiting for the "You talkin to me" scene. Taxi Driver.

"Badges?" from Treasure of the Sierra Madres is another good one.

Don't know the "They tried and died" line, although it's sounds like an Iron Maidien lyric.

Mine is not action packed at all... but it's the scene in Forrest Gump when Forrest goes to visit Jenny in Savannah, GA, finds out he has a son, and asks Jenny if he is smart.

If you haven't seen it before, it's a great scene and a great movie.

THey tried and failed is from Dune.

One that always makes me laugh.... Raiders of the Lost Ark, when Indy shoots the Ciaro Swordsman.

A little triva for you all...
It was supposed to be a 4 page scripted sword vs. whip fight but Harrison Ford had a nasty stomach bug along with most of the cast & crew (except for Spielberg who brought and ate only canned pasta while filming in Africa), and he didn't have the strength or energy for the scene. Ford suggested, "Why don't I just shoot the f---er?"

If you search you can find some more of that scene that they actually shot but didn't use. To this day that is my fathers all time favorite scene.

You are correct Sir, there are a few seconds of it stashed away somewhere on Youtube. Raiders is easily one of my top 5 all time favorite movies.
