favorite survival movies

Check out 'The Tracker' by Rolf De Heer. David Gulpilil is a Australian nation treasure. The film is not entirely about survival and it has annoying modern music which jars slightly with the period it's portraying. However it gives a great insight to Aboriginal character and their sense of humour as well as some cool survival/bush skills stuff.
 
I forgot one

Air force Bat 21 with Gene Hackman
Not only a survival movie but based on the true story of Lt. Col. Iceal "Gene" Hambleton, the longest survival op during Vietnam war.
BTW I've never been able to see the knife used in his vest, don't think it's a usual camillus pilot.
 
If you want to add Sun Tzu to your survival knowledge, then get the Wesley Snipes' film "The Art Of War".

I've heard about a movie that went straight to video with Lance Henriksen called "Survival Quest". Anyone remember this movie? It was about a survival instructor (Henriksen) and his group of students and something goes wrong?
 
What was the movie with Ice-T (why does he always get the snub from the Oscars?), where he gets hired for a job and it turns out the job is to be the prey for a bunch of jaded hunters. Rutger Hauer is in it, Charles S. Dutton, Dr. Cox.. Anyway, it was pretty good except for the fact that Ice-T stars in it.
 
Let's not forget the original survival movie--"Panic in the Year Zero" with Ray Milland and a young Frankie Avalon. It is available on VHS, I have a copy. Another-- check out "Dersu Uzala". Its in Russian with english subtitles. Worth finding. "Trigger Effect" with Kyle Macloughlin. That was a favorite during the blackout here on the east coast.
 
Another is Shoot to Kill, with Sidney Poitier (spelling?) and Tom Berringer. Entertaining.....Oh, forgot Christie Alley, while she is tied up in the cabin. I'm getting off course..;)
 
This is too funny I have alot of those movies, although I don't have "Panic in the Year Zero" . I have to find that one.
