favorite survival movies

How could I have forgotten "Omega Man"! Great call! And the "Dawn of the Dead" re-make comes out in March. I hope they honor the original.

Another vote for Flight of the Phoenix. Picked it up at the grocery store for $10 for the DVD. Talk about survival, thats the one. One that kinda qualifies would be Paul Newman in a movie called "Hombre."

Surprised no one has mentioned the Stallone movie "Daylight" excellent urban survival.

Has some great scenery and great tracking. Tom Berringer is in it.
Excellent Flick.

Didn't think of it either, until it was on TV last night.:D

FYI, I just saw "Master and Commander", It showed how a ship and crew survived a french privateer, and nature!!!!

Sure would like to know who made the knife that Tom B. carried in "Last of the Dogmen". Looked like a real nice blade.

Watched "The Hunted" with Tommy Lee Jones tonight. Was a fairly entertaining movie.

Thanks Fred A.

I just finished watching "Daylight" again. Pretty good flick. I heard that portions of the tunnel scenes were shot a short distance from our home.

Jeremiah Johnson is my all time favorite.

Didn't care for this movie, but does anyone remember that one about a plane crash in South American on a mountain above the timberline and they had to eat some of the dead. :barf: It was a true story I think, Alive?

And one other film staring Tom Berringer, "At Play In The Fields of the Lord" . basically he keps a bunch of missionaries from screwing up the life of a tribe of primative Amazon Indians.

RedDawn totally slipped my memory. Excellent movie. My bestfriend and I were in highschool when thgat came out and had many a talk over the campfire while we were in Broken Bow over that one. We still go there today to trout fish. Next year we take our sons.

Actually Longbow50 & FredA the Last of the Dogmen knife was made by Paton Knives. Rob is a friend of mine and I think it was his father that made the knife but they still make the pattern I do believe. I don't have a link but I am sure it could be found doing a search.
