Fiddleback ANYDAY Pocket Dump....Updated title

Yep, this thread is tough on my wallet. I'm now the proud owner of a copper aaa maratac and a Fiddleback EDK!

Another size comparison between different classes of lights:

CR123A, AAA, AA, 2xCR123A or 1x18650, Runt (not a light)

I like the sheath re-vamp Tom.

Neat looking knife TripleT. I love seeing makers use the micarta pins.

Not really a pocket dump, but all this stuff has been in my pockets lately, just not all at once.

The two zebra lights are really cool. They make lights in either warm(neutral) or cool light. The cool lights are a little brighter, but the warm lights make the color of things look more natural. This is helpful if you ever find yourself in a situation following a blood trail at night.

Zebralight H602w 18650 XM-L2 CREE LED Headlamp Neutral White - The spill on this headlight is incredible. Instead of a spot it lights up everything in your field of view - love it. Here is a link to virtuovice using it at night.

ZLSC62w SC62w 18650 Flashlight Neutral White - more of spotlight in the neutral light range. Great edc size

Fenix PD35 - I have 5 or 6 Fenix lights. This one is pretty good but I don't like the separate switch for adjusting the brightness as much on this model.

All three of those model max at around 1000 lumens.

The last headlamp is a black diamond spot. Before this I have always used petzl headlamps. I got this one to try because it has a 200 lumen max and is pretty water resistant. Controlling it is not very intuitive though and if you bump it, it changes brightness if you don't lock it. I have been mostly using the zebra headlamp because it rocks.

OK the Lumintop Prince came in. I like the light. Its nice and hefty, not really easy for pocket carry. I like to keep my pockets light.

The light. Its bright and the functions are smooth. The threads are smooth too even though they are common screw threads. The beam is narrow and throwey. It throws light a long way. The color is a nice white, not blueish at all. The light tailstands perfectly. The carbon fiber looks sharp.

The Olight S2 baton is a full cm shorter, same tube diameter. The light is a little lighter but not significantly. The beam is more floody. I generally don't like lights with anything but a flat lens and this one has some kind of optic funkiness in the lens area. The beam is smooth though with no rings. Its nice warm white light without any blueishness. I like this light a lot.

The little Olight S10R has been in my pocket this week. Its badass. It doesn't have the stunning brightness the others do. Thats hard for me to say since back when I was a flashlight guy you were lucky to get 200 lumens out of a light this size. But it sure is handy and the little charging dock it came with sealed it for me. No need to remove the battery. Sit it on the dock with its magnetic tailcap and its charging. Neato.

I took the clips off of all three lights, fyi. So the clip issue wasn't that bad...

Love the S10R! Been my EDC light for a while now, although I have recently misplaced it. Grrr....

I wear it in a small nylon pouch worn horizontally on my belt.

Thanks to this thread, today's pocket dump looks like this (new aaa copper light and Fiddleback EDK from Whitty over at USA Made Blades!):

Thats a cool set up ShanghaiJer.
I love that EDK.

My set up has changed today because of this thread too. I got my vintage copper pen and Andy gifted me a Maratac Rev2 today!

Under the heading of watching grass grow...

Exciting news. Today my less than week old Maratac copper, showed the first inklings of tarnish. Cant wait. Cheap date.

On the subject of tandem 123s in the Surefire P2x Fury, etc. still waiting. Ive listened to Surefire's automated customer service system 5 times since the other day, tell about their world class service, but have yet to get a call back and talk to a live human. Mebbe thats why theres no Surefire conversation here?

Trying to follow all this, and having fun, is the only difference between the Olight S1 Baton and the S10R Baton II the recharge-ability? And what does anyone know about availability of the blasted Ti or raw copper S1 Baton?

Andy, If you had to choose.. is it the Prince or the S2?

Tom
I called Surefire about 3weeks ago regarding a pocket clip that broke on my Lumamax LX2. They were prompt taking my call and despite the reported 4ish week delivery time it showed up the following week.

I believe the light and clip can be seen in my OP.

Thanks Philip, hope I didn't come off as grumpy ol guy - that particular comment was my back handed attempt to let TripleT know I was following up. But it does open the question, after 10 pages here, how come so little Surefire conversation?

I doubt it Tom.

I'm not sure why there hasn't been much Surefire conversation

Their CR123a batteries have circuit protection built in, and they seem to be the highest quality manufacturer of that particular module.

I have owned a few Surefires. I think they are overpriced by a lot. Normally I buy Jetbeam flashlights. You can get a light that performs and is built with high quality and is 1/3 the price. I used to buy more expensive lights, but nowadays I try to keep them under $100. The last Jetbeam before the Olight craze this week was $50ish. The Olights are really nice too. These are the first I've owned. I'd choose this $70 S2 over a surefire anyday.

S2. I find spill to be better than throw on a pocket light. I won't be carrying a light that big though.
