Fiddleback Collections

Goober,

That is a Dylan Fletcher Ulysses. Few and far between, took me a little over a year to get one.

I spend most of last night reading about Fletcher knives, but couldn't find a decent review for the Ulysses anywhere unfortunately. I don't know if yours is a user or not, but if it is would you mind doing a review on that big boy someday once you got it dirty?

You have to be quick or Skystorm and Kirkwood will shark you!

:D

That is just an awesome collection, Phillip. And great pics to boot! I love the themes and sub themes (of course I do ;)). And agree that this forum is a great community. One of the nice things is the ability to share with other members and collaborate to help each other reach respective collection goals (even if they may overlap).

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Koa and the Ironwood are just unreal!! I've been sticking with synthetics lately, but would throw that out the window for those. Just ideal examples of how I would like those woods to look.

Outstanding collection, Sky! Experiencing some serious Karda-envy. :D

Overall great contributions and pics fellas!

Bit of an update ;). Pretty happy with where things are at -- lots of recent turn over, but we're almost there!

A couple of dupes here & there.....nothing to worry about. There are some good looking new additions for sure

DUPES!?! Will???

Teasing... I've also thrown my no dupes policy out the window. In fact, I have trips at the moment.

Looks great BTW! Needs more Koa. :D

The collection is looking good Will. Especially liking your Nessies...

Thanks Bill -- the Nessies really speak to me; I'm currently working something out to obtain an Arete in the exact matching config as the nessmuk!

Looking good Will!

Thanks Phillip -- trying to add a little variety these days!

Thanks guys! Yeah the whole dupes thing has been lingering in the back of my mind, but my "justification" :D is as follows -- The dupes that I currently have 4 x (1x not yet pictured ;)) are all of my favorite profiles (Duke, Kephart, Recluse, BC). In my never ending quest to find my perfect example of a profile, I was constantly faced with the dichotomy of potentially damaging / destroying a knife that I find aesthetically pleasing or intend to pass down one day. With that being said, I obtained equally awesome synthetic proxies to WAIL on. I am hard on gear.. ask my friends & my wife. While I still wholly intend to use the "showy" dupe knives, their synthetic counterparts will both see the world ans see some serious action. While not necessarily a cost effective approach, I'm able to have my cake and eat it too.

Hey Will,

You new "temporary" collection looks good. I would love to see the complete history of transactions that got you to this point. I really like the new Duke and Recluse. Those are gorgeous examples of those models. You have refined down to a stellar group overall. Well done!

With that said, something tells me that you can't be completely satisfied for very long with a stagnant collection. Good luck with your next move(s). Let me know if you ever get itchy fingers with that Camp Nessie. I would make an exception to my all Shadetree policy for that one.

Thanks for the update my friend!

Phil

Awesome Will, was digging the iron wood trend but the new collection seems very well balanced. My fav has got to be the new kephart you picked up.

That burl handled Duke is the bomb diggity.

Great collection update Will!

My favorite is still the camp nessie. That thing is the bomb. I also love that wood handled kephart!!!

Wonderful collection Will, I particularly like the Duke, Camp Nessie and the 2 Bushcrafters but I wouldn't say no to the Camp Knife or the Kephart either.
Well done!

Mick

Update of the Orange sub collection. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I dig 'em.

Great photo Nathan! Even though orange is not my first pick (I have something special with orange on the way ;)), I still think your camp nessie is my all time favorite with Will's in a close second.

I like the Orange .. ya just dont much of it. Sort of a rarity.

I Love the way that the orange pops as pinstripes. Orange handles for me is another story. In some seasons and environments it would really stick out if laid on the ground, but in the fall around here, it would blend right into the leaves on the forest floor.

You guys are killing me with your collections, that scandi HB in particular

Nothing wrong with a little orange. I just happened to order an orange flashlight just so I'll have some other gear that matches my BB's pinstripes

Very good representation of Andy's varying profiles and grinds too. Very attractive set indeed, and digging the peppering of the leathermans :D
