Dave,
That first pic is a great shot. That is one proud dad right there.

Congrats to you sir.

Great pics Dave! What a beautiful ceremony. Congratulations to you and your family!!!

Thank you for letting me share with all Of you. It's a joyful and humbling experience.

Well, today...nine months after arriving back in Tennessee, and seeing the project that my father-in-law left for me when he passed away.....the house stands under it's own power again finally. I had to level the upstairs, raising a 7 inch sag in the floor from a structural wall being removed. I had to do this about a quarter inch a a time over weeks to keep from popping the tile off of the walls in the upstairs bathroom. Then I had to bolt all of the joist together where they met on that wall and build an offset diagonal/leaning support wall to hold it level while I went under the floor to build structural supports for the columns to hold the beam that would replace the original wall. Then put in the beam and columns with both columns and the beam having wiring chases in them for the wires for the lighting, switches, and the outlets in the bar, sorting out the electric nightmare as I went. There is still much to do with sorting the rest of the electric, and I have to relocate a header in the outside structural wall to move the kitchen window over, and replace the window I have already removed. I also have to do the drywall after rearranging some of the wall structure, run a new vent, re-do a support in another area, put down 4000 sqr ft of hardwood flooring, assemble, build, and install the cabinets etc. All while keeping up with my rather complex work load. But right now I am just excited that for the first time since last summer the house stands under its own power with all supports and leveling jacks removed. :)

Congratulations Mist. That is quite the complex puzzle of engineering and craftsmanship you walked into. I wish that surprise on no one, but it sounds like you did a heck of a job dealing with it, while still maintaining your busy schedule. I hope you get a moment to relax and congratulate yourself. Well done.

Brian:

So tell us, what have you been doing in your spare time ?

Sounds like a heck of a lot of work, however, I'm sure that you & your family will take pride in knowing that it was all done by your capable hands. Going to be a well earned house warming celebration when its all done. Keep us posted on your progress.

Peter

You forgot to say, All while posting reviews and pics that make fellow Fiddleback Fanatics drool.

Seriously though. Congrats Brian. That piece of mind you feel is a well deserved one.

Brian. Take a rest buddy. I almost burned myself out this past year with 2 full remodels as well. Some days you just want knock yourself in the head with the hammer!
But, think about how much you'll enjoy the space when it's all said and done knowing that you crafted it with your own two hands.

Good Luck man! Hope to see you at Blade.

Thanks for sharing Brian. That's great to hear. I know how hard you have worked on it that especially after everything else you've dealt with the last few years. Congrats my friend!

I feel so bad for my wife. We woke up this morning to find our 10 yr old cat staggering in circles and blind. We took her to the E.R. vet but had to be put down from a stroke. My wife found her as a stray as a kitten. She was so small that my wife bottle fed her. A very difficult start to her Mother's day. :(

Dave:

So sorry on the loss of your kitty. Difficult at any time, let alone on Mother's Day.

Congratulations on the house progress Brian. That sounds like a heck of a lot of work. You are definitely going to have a lot of sweat equity and personal pride in that place. I am sure that your father-in-law would be proud too.

Dave, I am very sorry to hear about losing you cat. We have a similar rescue kitty that we had to feed with an eye dropper when we got her fourteen years ago. Melissa is extremely attached to her, so I can relate to how hard this must be for Suzanne. My condolences!

Phil

Thanks guys. Yeah, it is a lot of work, and a lot more to be done. But it is a great sense of accomplishment seeing it at this point.

Dave, you and your wife have my sympathy. That is a horrible start for mother's day.
