Brian, congrats on the milestone. Job we'll done. Enjoy it... Then on to the next step.

Dave, so sorry to hear about that. Always tough. Our condolences to you and the family.

Been another rough stretch around here dealing with cancer. My dad's younger brother passed away from the same Melanoma that my dad had. Their similar progression through the disease has become a study for the oncologists looking for links.

My wife just got a call that her dad has prostate cancer. Early detection means it should be treatable.

Guys, take those funny looking moles seriously and get them checked out. And if you're in the target group for prostrate screening, do it.

Cancer sucks.

Sorry to hear that Nathan. Sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Thanks for the reminder about the preventive check ups.

I am very sorry to hear about your uncle passing Nathan. I lost my maternal grandfather to melanoma too. He was a fighter like your dad, but in the end a life of shirtless farming while driving tractors caught up with him.

Thanks for the good advice and encouragement for pre-screening. I am glad that your father-in-law got an early diagnosis on his cancer. I will be praying for him.

Phil

Nathan, as others have echoed, I am truly sorry for your loss. Sending smoke my friend -- hang in there

My deepest sympathy Nathan. I experienced a similar situation when I lost my dad. My uncle was a 2nd dad to me. I lost him 9 months after my own dad. Prayers from my family to yours and prayers for healing for your father in law.

Dave

Sorry for the continued losses and stress Nate. You all have been hit with grief with quite a heavy load. 2 Cor 1:3,4

Soooo, you know that moment when the Holy Spirit moves and it SO inconvenient but compelling? Yeah, well that just happened to me and the family. We were out unexpectedly late and had to grab some supper to go. We told our 3 young daughters that it's already your bedtime, so eat quick, brush your teeth, and get in bed! We were huffing it back to our vehicle when we passed a 11-12 year old boy in short sleeves, no socks or shoes, hunched over trying to be warm in the 48 degree night air. He had a sign saying he's deaf and orphaned. I've known sign language since I was 8 years old and we are here working with the deaf. Both my wife and I felt the tug. We stopped and I went to buy him a hot cocoa and a sandwich. My wife was waiting with him and was trying to communicate with him. He doesn't appear to know very many signs. As I approached with the food, another lady and her young daughter approached and gave him a heavy sweater. We ten took him to a shoe store and bought him a pair of socks and shoes. We tried communicating the whole time, but he would just shake his head yes to everything.

We gave him a gospel tract and tried to explain where our church for the deaf is. More shaking of his head. All I know is that we obeyed the pricking of the Holy Spirit, and Alvaro walked away with a big smile on his face. I hope our paths cross again.

Well, sadly Alvaro (refer to previous post) didn't show up today. I hope to see him again and I hope he is ok. We are entering our winter and temperatures are already in the low 40s each night. Though our house has no heat, it is warmer then outside. Makes me thankful for the things we have. We are blessed.

Wow Thurin so sorry for your Loss. My Family will be praying for Grace for your family.

What a story Condor! That is a great lesson your family got to experience. When the Holy Spirit moves you, it always brings Great Wisdom with it. I hope your new Friend gets to see God in your work and is warm in his Presence and you guys see him again. Please stay warm.

God is Good!

Folks I am stepping lightly here as I don't want to over step my bounds. It is not my place to say anything about another member's personal heath issues or situations that I know nothing about but I just feel moved to ask for prayers and support for Redbird777 and his family. We messaged briefly regarding a knife he still has on the flea market. He mentioned some health issues in for-sale post and having to sell some knives as a result. That is why I am posting my request. I'm sure he and his family could use some support right now.

Cory I hope that I am not out of line asking this request for you. I believe in the power of prayer and positive thoughts and just hope that everything goes well for you and your family.

Dave

Condor, helping others always shows a glimpse of the Holy Spirit and then the Spirit reminds us of the many ways we are blessed. No heat is not necessarily a blessing but the covered shelter with the warmth of family inside sure is. I know you get this and feel it and I'm sure Alvaro felt some of it as well. Frankly, I can't even imagine what it would be like to be deaf and only know the voice inside your head, if that voice can even speak words. All the best to you and your school.

Thoughts and prayers out for Redbird777 and Thurin, hoping the best for all.

Hey guys! It's been a rough year. Without going into too many gory details I finally had my third spinal surgery on Monday. Got released yesterday.

This is the titanium hardware that they took out. Cost an extremely reasonable 10k :o

Now I have twice as much in there, but hopefully I won't get those pieces back for a few years. :)

Can't wait to get back to building sheaths!

Sorry to hear that Anthony. I wish you the best in your recovery. Sending prayers. I hope you can get back to your sheath making soon!
