On a different note, today is my birthday and I'm celebrating with a Camp Nessmuck from the Flea Market. Can't wait!!

Will also be swinging by the antique mall in the next town over to see if the H-B Boys axe is still hiding in the back corner for $25.

Happy Birthday John and congrats on the camp nessie!!!

Happy birthday. It's great to have antique stores and flea markets close when you want to find a diamond in the rough.

Hi friends. Without wanting to bring people down, i just wanted to vent and share...my amazing, beautiful mother Patricia finally found peace this week after a relatively short but aggressive battle with Alzheimers Disease. This condition is so cruel and robs once artistic and passionate people of their ability to communicate. My mum also recently overcame breast cancer and for the dementia to follow feels especially harsh. I know she is now free of torment and pain, but it's still very hard to take. Fortunately I was able to travel from Japan to UK to be with her for her last hours and remind her how much she meant to me. Thanks for listening....Jules

My condolences to you and your family Jules. Truly a tragic disease that I hope will have a cure soon.

My deepest sympathy Jules. Your family is in the forefront of our prayers. I'm so sorry for the loss and it doesn't take the pain away but I'm thankful it wasn't an extended period.

Sincere condolences Jules. My hope is that you being there with her will help bring closure to you and your family.

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your mother Jules. You did the best thing that you could do for her by traveling far to spend time with her when she needed you most. Take comfort in knowing that her suffering is over. I pray that the good memories you have with her help to get you through the grieving process.

Phil

I am extremely sorry to hear about your mother's passing. These times can be devastating and I am heartbroken for you. Remember some of the good times you had... perhaps a time when she made you smile and laugh.

I share in your grief and send my deepest sympathies.

So sorry to hear that, but what a blessing that you were able to make the trip and be with her at the end. Will be praying.

Damn Jules
Thinking of you and wishing you peace and comfort as you remember your mom.

Sorry to hear about your Mom. My sincere condolences Jules. Glad you were able to be with her before she passed.

I've been away a lot more than I've been present the last several months. Truth be told, I've been trying to unplug more often, spend more time with the kids and Frau, and all that. That said, this is one thread I made sure to read most weeks, praying for those who shared even if I didn't comment so.

Jules (and others) may God be with you in this shadow place.

I do hope to be around more regularly again. I miss you guys.

Michael

Hate to hear that Jules. Always sucks loosing someone you love, especially your mom.

Thanks guys. I'm so grateful I made it back to be with her and tell her I love her one last time. Please, please remember to tell your loved ones how much you love them while you have the chance... You can never say it too much.

So sorry to hear about your mother's passing Jules. I'm glad you got to see her and tell her you love her. Good advice you give.

Tomorrow morning my family flys back to the States to spend time with my family. My dad has ALS. We are looking forward to spending some time with him before returning to South America. My whole family has been fighting some weird morphing sickness this past week. We are still struggling and our flight is tomorrow morning! This will be a loooonnnnnngggggg day if we don't feel well before morning.

Flying when sick is not fun. I hope you get some quality time with your father and your family enjoys the visit to the States. Perhaps you'll have a chance to visit a knife store or at least a Cabela's or similar.
