Fiddleback community center

Surgery scheduled for tomorrow at noon. I finish preaching at 11:30 and then I have go to be prepped for surgery. Any chance Fiddleback Forge makes a decent scalpel and it can be rush delivered here?!! ;) Doctor says the incision will be about 10 cm long. That'll be a nice scar, too bad it won't be made with a Fiddleback. I told him I don't want to go under, so he's gonna do local and I'll be awake for the cutting, drilling, and sewing. That's better then being put under and coming out a vegetable.

Hi Luke, we tend to take anesthesia for granted in our country, but it is nothing to take for granted. Perhaps they can give you something orally to relax you during the procedure. Even with local, I suspect that there will be some pain involved. For the future, you might want to consider medical evacuation insurance. This would get you back to the U. S. for treatment. I don't know if you would be flown back to the country when completed, however. My recollection is that this insurance is not terribly expensive.

Good luck, and I will be praying for a successful procedure, and a rapid recovery.

Wow man we will be sending prayers and thoughts and good vibes your way!

Take care Luke , we will be sending prayers your way .

I'm not sure if Andy makes a scalpel or not mate but you can use my small Gaucho . It should do the job ok but I fear the surgeon may keep it:)
Praying for you mate.

Thanks to each of you for your kind response and support, it means a lot. My wife has been emotional and my daughters don't understand why Daddy is hurting so bad and can't pick them up, tickle fight, or even give a good hug! Hopefully after surgery tomorrow my musculature will stop being so sore and out of whack.

I was approaching the line and my light turned yellow. I should have just stopped, but I gave it the gas. Another guy on a motorcycle jumped the red light (all too common here) and I t-boned him. He tipped over and has a bruised foot and scraped up toe. I on the other hand went over the handle bars and landed on my shoulder and had my foot mashed by the bike. I'll be out till late tomorrow. I'll give an update, again thank you for your support!

Man, good luck Luke. Prayers from California.

Prayers from SW Florida Luke.....sorry to hear about your misfortune. Best wishes for a speedy recovery !

Prayers from the PNW Luke, I don't blame you for being wary about surgery. Good luck with recovery no matter which path you choose!

Sorry to hear about your accident Luke. I hope the surgery goes well if you have to do it.

Best,

Tod

Sorry to hear about the accident Luke. I am praying that it all works out well for you and you heal up quickly.

Smoke headed your way Luke.

First off, my username was changed from 'lmari55' to 'SA Condor'

I'm a week past my surgery! My stitches are out and boy do I have a whopper of a scar. Still bruised and limping and he arm has to stay in a sling for another 30 days, but I got a good report from the doctor. Hopefully my ligaments will fuse back together. I've been semi-lurking this last week, haven't had a lot of time! I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

Good to hear from you Luke. I'm sorry that your pain lingers on, but your body will heal. It is good news that the doctor thinks the ligaments will again be functional. Be sure to pay attention to the PT when the time comes.

Glad to hear you got a good report from the doctor Luke! I hope your recovery is fast and smooth. The condor will fly again soon!

I so many times have a single photo or a short story that I would like to share with my Fiddleback brethren but I don't as I don't want to clutter up the forum with too many off topic threads. Then I remembered Duder's thread! Perfect ....

We have so many dedicated family members here that I just felt compelled to share this photo. Our grand daughter is spending the night. My wife and I have all sorts of activities that we plan to do with her. (such as baking cookies, movie night, grandpa's amazing pancakes in the morning :D) I already know how dedicated my wife is as a grandmother but sometimes a moment just stops you in your tracks and you appreciate what you have. I can't ask for a better wife and mother and grand mother for our children. To watch her interact is a special moment for me. Thanks for listening everyone ...

Priceless moments right there. You clearly chose right, or perhaps she chose you; either way, congratulations!

Dave,
It goes to show, the simplest things can bring the biggest rewards. Thanks for sharing.
