What is the color of this Bushfinger called? I've seen the same, if not very similar color, called black, blue, sapphire, and purple. Is it as purple in person as it looks? Do they get any more purple?

Thanks guys.

To answer the question once and for all (also answered here), it is black shadetree burlap (the mfr. of shadetree calls it "oreo"). It looks purple/gray/bluish in person when dried out, unpolished or sandblasted. If the handle is oiled, wet, or waxed it will be a darker variant somewhere between charcoal and dark purple. Do some quick searches on the forum, there are numerous pictures out there.

Thanks. I did search, and did see numerous pictures. My problem was inconsistency in naming. Shadetree has a purple burlap but whenever I saw purple burlap on a Fiddleback it was usually called black and then a few other names here and there.

Has Andy ever used that Shadetree purple on his knives? Or just purplish black (Oreo)?

Dcaggie06, if that Ironwood BC 1/8th almost full grind, Orange liners. is still available for $290, I'll take it! PM to follow.

Hi Cassander,
AFIK, there is no "purple" shadetree. FOD (Shadetree) may make such a color, but Andy has not used it on a knife to dat e(if it even exists).

Of Note, while I / we are happy to answer your questions, this specific thread is for buying / selling only. If you have a question / suggestion pertaining to handle materials, etc, I'd recommend checking out this thread and posting there; that way we keep this thread uncluttered of any non-sale related conversations.

No problem man. I was really hoping just for a quick answer to a question I had about a knife recently listed here. Also, I'm hoping someone sees this and offers to sell me one ;)

Didn't mean to start a whole conversation.

I've got a couple that I'm looking to sell or trade. All prices include shipping CONUS and PP fees. I'm certainly open to trades especially for oddities (Snubnose, BLJ, Fighter, BSS, etc). Both are in excellent/new condition, the Sneaky has been sharpened but the Esquire is untouched as new. Please feel free to PM me with questions. Thanks for looking guys.

#1 - Sneaky Pete OD canvas over thin black with lime green pinstripes, SFT tang, convex on 1/8" spalted 01 steel $225

#2 - Esquire, Natural Linen, SFT Tang, 1/8” thick - TRADED

Thanks, Chad

How come I'm getting flak for thanking people for responding to my question even though I have tried to drop it already a couple times? I see a couple people who kept answering when it was already answered. Where're their shush'es? I won't mention it further. Thanks for all the info. Now someone sell me one :)
