Fiddleback on Tap Saturdays

It's a day early, but I just got done driving home from MN and I'm going to sit down and sip a whiskey and relax.

My wife rocks! We normally don't do a bunch of stuff for each other for Christmas and instead focus on the kids. She asked me "if you were to ask for anything for Christmas what would it be?". I said a 12" Fiddleback Machete. Kinda like dreaming "if I won the lottery, what would I do" just for fun stuff. Well much to my surprise, guess what I find under the tree?

More on the machete after I take it out in the backyard tomorrow and do some much needed yard work. But in the meantime, here it is with a new Colorado Whiskey I thought I'd give a shot. It's from the same guy that made Stranahan's before he sold it if you're familiar with that at all. It's kind of a legend in CO.

Wishin' I had a Woodchuck to go with the Woodchuck, but this Bushcrafter will have to do for now.

I love the spalting on that scandi EDCII VANCE! I'm bummed that scandi's have fallen out of favor. My New Belgium was followed by some Coors Light. I don't have a cool Duck Commander koozie for them though. But my EDCII is sporting the Tuxedo as well. Nice shot. I need a real camera...

Tonight, after the last two days of hectivites (hectic-activities), and the phone call from my brother out on the highway in three inches of snow, I'm having a nice pint of Hobgoblin, and checking out the edge on my Recluse after the workout it got earlier today cutting heavy mill visqueen. I would have given the Raptor a good wookout...but alas the little woman borrowed it today when we went into town...since I sold off her edc, the Bushboot.

The conversation went something like this:

Her: I'm taking this one today.

Me: My Raptor? Why?

Her: You sold mine.

Me: Yes, but now you can carry the blue Recluse, it's blue and gold (cornflower blue, natural canvas), those are your favorite colors.

Her: Yes, great for around the property and when we go to the woods, but not into town.

Me: Why not? I carry my black Recluse everywhere. I just carried it into stores and restaurants in three different counties yesterday.

Her: Yes, but your like 6'-2" and 275 pounds, it doesn't look so big on your belt. I'm a LOT smaller than you.

Me: So what, your're a woman, it blue, it's sheeple friendly. Besides, anyone who talks to you for a few minutes will know immediately that you are a sociology/cultural anthropology major who is much more likely to talk somebody to death than to stab them with a knife. It'll be fine.

Her: *Beaming smile* I'm taking this one, you should contemplate a smaller blue one.

Me: *siiiigh* Fine, whatever. Can we go eat breakfast now?

Yep, I think Imma have me another pint lol

Damn cool Photo MD, I think I need one in that handle config, I like that Kephart a lot.

Thanks Mist. Just relaxing tonight playing with some knives.

There is some sparkle in this handle. I wasn't sold on it at first. My fiance loved it! :D It has grown on me a ton and now I'm really diggin it.
