Fiddleback User Pics

Seeing a picture of that bushfinger recently is what inspired me to pick up this lady finger. The original bushfinger handle looks to be a cross between the lady finger and the new bushfinger. I would love to have one exactly like that one you had. It looks to be the perfect fiddleback. That is an amazing photo by the way!!!!

Thank you! :) The original Bushfinger was prototyped from a Ladyfinger I believe, and was essentially a Landyfinger without the sway back. Then Andy tweaked the design. I'm pretty sure a Ladyfinger is going to be about as close as anyone can get to the original one as far as handle shape goes.

My first Fiddleback. A Patch with Eucalyptus burl over black and lime. I had it sent straight to Rick for a hybrid sheath and took it on a hiking/camping/fishing adventure this weekend.

I tried a few different set ups with the TekLock.

Great looking knife, sheath and pack Odaon. Those sheaths are too cool. That looks like a bolete poking through the soil there.

Thank you! I will be attempting your fire drill challenge with the Patch this weekend. We'll see how it goes! A bolete indeed! Boletus rubriceps. Delicious! The Kifaru T2 is the most comfortable pack I've ever worn. I had probably 50 pounds in it this weekend and we gained about 2000 feet in elevation over the 3.5 mile hike. Felt great at the top and the bottom! Got to get in hunting shape.

Thanks for sharing the photos Odaon. Nice choice for your first Fiddleback. The Patch is a versatile knife and I really like your choice of sheaths from Rick Lowe. That makes for a very practical set-up.

Very nice! Rick does a great job with his sheaths. I have yet to try the Patch in the field, but would love to have had a sheath like this for my Recluse.

Mistwalker,

The patch did well with everything I used it for! I also really like the Recluse but I wanted a smaller model first. The sheath is awesome!

Just another quick mushroom picture! These are lobster mushrooms (Hypomyces lactifluorum). Still loving the Patch.

Yeah! They're really cool. It's a fungus that infects and usually non-interesting, white, gilled mushroom species and turns it into these bright orange choice edibles.

They're pretty tasty! A nice snappy texture, mushroom flavor with a hint of crab or lobster.

That is one gorgeous Recluse, Double Barrel! Is that African Blackwood on that wonderful specimen?

Thank you much, shredder!
That is African Blackwood. The knife is a scaled down Recluse. It is the Patch knife. Hard to tell the difference without a size reference. At least for me. I'm working on a forced Patina now. It is turning out pretty good, if I must say so myself..lol.

Shadetree phenolics with glodusted yarn on a CPM Bushfinger :D

I was sharpening it for a friend and took some pics while I had it out.
