I too forget about the Leuku. I do quite like the Patch, Recluse, Leuku family of knives. We'll see what happens when I've got the funds to for the next knife! I had some saved up but I've been wanting to get my good friend who is graduating in May a gift so I spent it on one of the production Puukkos. I think he'll get a lot of use out of that and it'll make me happy to give him something.

This is probably off topic, but I am a novice to say the least when it comes to blades. I have one I am desperately trying to identify. It is a family heirloom and has been passed to me at 30 years old. It is a beautiful knife. 6 3/4" total length. Dark green wood handle. 2 brass pins. Brass bolster. 5 uniform deliberate hash marks on the spine just before the bolster, and the name "Braswell" engraved on the blade. That is the only mark i can see anywhere. The tang is not enclosed in the handle. It sort of splits the wood in two. Sandwiched by it if you will. Does anyone have any advice on where to go or who to talk to for information?

That's awesome of you. I've done it several times and it makes me feel good

I've done it once before but it has been a few years. He showed some interest in my other FBF knives so I figured I might as well get him his own. He took me hunting for the first time and I'm obsessed with that now. I took him mushroom hunting for the first time and he's hooked haha. I'm sure the Puukko will see lots of use for both activities.

I can't wait to get my own next knife though!

I am thinking the Leuku is similar in size to the Hunter, but I think I would like the leuku more diu to the narrower blade. I need to stop forgetting it and try one out :)

According to Phil's (comprehensivist) review
Hunter Blade Length: 4.250"
OAL: 9.500"
Leuku Blade Length: 4.800"
OAL: 9.500"

Leuku is a very nice knife, and a traditional pattern from the scandinavian regions (Sami knife).

Here is one with a Ratmandu:

It's ridiculous, Abe. I can't get over it. Really love the old school design...the weight, the balance, and that Ironwood with the blue liners! Just too much!

I have a recluse in the same combo and love it. Yours is a very rare piece though. Enjoy it [emoji106]
