First hike out with the new Hiking Buddy today. Was pretty short since I'm pretty under the weather still. It snowed during the night:

(Apologies for the iPhone quality photos)

I like your style.

Haha, mine is like the twin with the booger up his nose (it has got green liners and lacks that pretty patina)!

Mist, that is gorgeous.

Thanks man. This one has been a near constant companion lately. I had gotten it to serve as my hunting knife, but it has turned into an edc...so will still go hunting with me I'm sure. But now that Andy is doing the tapered and skeletonized tangs on a regular basis, I may get an actual Hunter or a Bushfinger to serve as a dedicated hunting knife before it's over :)

Thanks Hugh! That Hiking Buddy of yours is looking pretty awesome. I love the patina, and that burlap looks great, I've been wandering how it does and feels over time.

All of the easily obtainable free/low cost food is what I really miss about Florida!

Wow, and I thought it was getting cold here already. Beautiful photos! The Hiking Buddy is one of my favorite models by Andy, it's just an awesome little knife. I let my daughter use mine yesterday on a hike. It's a little big for her yet, but she handled it well and she could grow into it...I just need to get her one in some girly color synthetic handle material.

Lucky to have her. Haven't used her enough. Thinning my knife herd. This one was going nowhere. Staying with me

Yep, there aren't many of those around, I'd hang on to it too. Andy's Kephart design is my favorite "bushcraft" knife of all, I want a tapered tang version, but damn an SFT curly-q would be even sweeter!

Damn it Mr Vance, it seems all you do it eat! I hate your posts because they make me hungry every time haha. Pretty appropriate to have a boxer as a picture, my two girls would suck in food like vacuums.

thanks mr plue

seems working 5 days a week & taking 1 day with the wife we share off from work it doesnt lead me much time to stalk the woods.leaving @ 7"30 in the morning & returning @ 6:30 in the evening seems all i do is come home & fix dinner

edit...
the other day i drive my mom around & take her to run her errands...except last wednesday when andy met her....l0l

I hear you there, I usually work 4-7 when I'm out in the field, enough time to collapse into bed and go back to work again. I always enjoy your posts for reminding me of home-cooked meals and great knives.

Maybe in a couple of years it'll get better, here's to hoping! :)

Thanks, and yep lots of great shots in this thread. Sometimes I just come here to scroll through this thread, check out all of the knives, and try very hard to decide on the next one lol.

Here's my night on this cold evening:

This is a really cool shot. I'll be glad when I can imbibe again, it's the time of year that I do like to have a shot on occasion...damned doctors and wife lol
