Mist, that's some awesome burlap there, the green is my favorite!
I'm really digging the burlap micarta a lot, and the emerald green is really sweet!
Mist, how did the Nessie do in the kitchen?
I think it did well not being a dedicated food prep knife. The grind is higher than the full height grind on my Raptor because the blade is wider, and it slices really well. If the egde came down even with the guard, or maybe even a couple of thousandths below, I would really be able to take advantage of the near continuous curve on the cutting board better. As is with the slight guard and the 4 inch blade, it does limit the amount of edge that can contact the cutting board. If I were going to want a change with food prep in mind it would be to lower the edge rather than remove the guard. However I had no problems, and there is plenty of edge to rock on the board for cutting up fresh cilantro and what have you. The knife does really flow in the hand though, and I expect the somewhat serpentine/shallow S shape of the cutting edge and handle, will work well together in processing game. It feels perfect in a pinch grip. I didn't really get this one with kitchen duty as a primary role, I believe the guardless Woodchuck will definitely fill that role for me when I find the one I want.
That ness looks great. Have the scales been oiled?
Thanks, I think so too, and nope, not yet.
