Big Paw Bushcrafter arrived. This knife is going to work out pretty darn good. I'm thinking of it as a Kephart on steroids. Fits the hand really well.

I was hoping someone would do this. Any chance of pics from different angles to highlight the "big paw-ness" or a more detailed comparison written out? Are the two similar enough that the choice should be made by "fit" rather than any functional difference?
We need more than this to live vicariously through you!

Man I love that knife -- if you ever get sick of it, I'll have cash waiting. BTW great feather sticks!
Very cool, that looks much like a Kephart with a slightly raised point!
Nice shot man, nice fuzzies! Yeah, my wife used to think I was a little nuts too man, after a few years she realized she had vastly underestimated
Thank you for that! I'm thinking 5/32, tapered, just a smidgen higher grind, and guardless. h_ll yeah I know what I want now...after I get the Shank I want, I hope...!
I actually had to go back and review the Fiddleback Fridays to find this model. I can't believe I missed it.
Beautiful knife Thurin. Thanks for sharing the comparison pics!
Heya Will,
It's a spoontula that I carved out of an Aspen from my backyard. Roughed it out with a hatchet, did the rest of the carving with the Arete and did the bowl work with a Pinewood Forge hook knife

NICE!!!!!! Very impressed!!!!!!!! I wanna try something like that!
Just remember, before cutting, measure a wooden spoon and cut the wood plank (that your going to whittle) to that general/ballpark measurement. At least in terms of height. Also, choose your wood carefully. I took a well seasoned, thick piece of almond and thought I could whittle it down into a spoon. Many hand cramps, blisters and days later, I threw the half whittled almond nightmare over the fence, grabbed some 3 month old Ash and whipped up a very nice spoon in no time.
