Burlap in the Tetons. The Bushcrafter saw some good use and doesn't look so clean anymore. The Snake River is a little ways below this ridge--went swimming at Deadman's Bar right after taking this shot.

I love that area! Those fiddlebacks look right at home.

Good stuff there Tod! I love them as well.

I think this new Patch Knife is a keeper. I love the grain in the African Blackwood and it has the spalting just the way I like it.

And it goes perfect with my RLO sheath.

That patch knife looks perfect! It is an incredible photo on the rocks. It almost looks like it is hovering. That would make a good ad. Seriously, I would put that photo on the wall.

I put the full sized version of this in the FBOTS thread yesterday, but thought I should put a cropped version of it here. Considering how soft Gouda is, and that the block of cheese is actually wider than the Hiking Buddy's blade is long, I have absolutely no complaints about the 5/32 as far as slicing goes :)

Tod, that Karda is sweet! No bullseye... what's the vintage?

And now I need a patch knife. Thanks Nathan. ;)

Looks like it was a tasty Saturday night, Brian. Hang in there brother.

I was at the beach all last week and took no pics with Fiddleback content. Really all I did was cut some peaches for the kids with the EDK and make some meals with the Woodsman. Hmm... yeah I guess that could have made for some okay pics... but too much effort for vacation.

Thanks Nathan! Holy smokes! That batch was off the hook!!!! Spalting scandi paradise!! Those hiking buddies, the runt, the bush boot... Where are all of these awesome knives? A scandi runt in burlap with insane spalting... I'll take it please....

Tod,

I'm pretty sure the Karda was from this batch: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/867504-New-Batch-5-Available

Not sure where it went though since it's not for sale in that thread.

My theory (just a theory) is that the kardas in that vintage had handles that were too small for the bullseye, as the other models already had them by then.

And here is the batch where the Karda was redesigned to have the Bullseye: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/958158-Batch-of-5

Great job on the research Nathan. You are quite the historian.

Nice knife Tod. Honestly, the Karda handle is not my thing, but I appreciate provenance and beauty of that knife nonetheless.

Phil

Thanks for the research, Nathan!!! I love looking at the old posts and understanding what was going on at the time!
