Here are a few pics comparing curls between a 3/32" scandi and a 5/32" convex.

A 3/32" hidden tang HB? That has to be light as a feather.

Nice curls Hasco. I didn't do too well with my Bushboot to be honest. I think the original edge needs some re-profiling, it's just not as sharp as I'd like even after a ton of stropping.

I almost forgot, but I promised Thurin some pics of my overnighter this weekend. Camping in the wild is forbidden in my country, as it is in most European countries, so I have to be stealthy here unfortunately. So no big fire or bbq's I'm afraid. Instead I use my Solo stove for a small discrete fire to keep me entertained & to help keeping the mosquitoes away.

A local treat for starters. It's basically smoked bacon with some kind of seasoning, it's called 'Zeeuws spek' and originates from the province Zeeland in the south of our country:

...& then I started drinking & forgot to take more pictures...

So here are a few more from the same spot but a few weeks earlier (pre-Fiddleback):

Diner (I actually brought the same salad both times, lol. It's smoked salmon with pasta and my own secret recepy for the dressing):

& last but not least, the bedroom:

Cool pictures and story! :) I love to see how other people play in the woods!!!!!!

GB - thanks for the pictures and trip report! I wasn't aware that wild camping was a no-no where you're at. Looks like you've found a good spot. That Zeeuws spek looks yummy! Your Bushboot looks good in the woods. The Spyderco Bushcraft is a good knife as well. Has to be the most comfortable production knife I've ever held.

Thanks for sharing your pictures GB. Looks like you had a good time, and your BB looked really good in that environment.

I like your tent GB, what kind is it? Fine looking trio and that's one fine campsite.

Thanks for the comments guys

Thurin: The Bush Spydie is a great and very comfortable knife to use but I find it a bit clumsy to carry, perhaps I should look in to some different sheath designs for it some day. But the smaller knife & mini hatchet combo worked out great so I think I'm gonna stay with those for a while. Our camping laws are pretty ridiculous, but luckily it's still possible to get away with it if you look around a bit. This spot is my fav currently. I call it 'going to the woods', but it's really just a small patch of trees in between some farmland. We make do with what we have I guess.

Trestle: That's a Vango Force Ten Helium 200, I got it last year to replace my old Gelert Mongoose 2 & like it a lot. It's suppose to be a two person tent but it's barely large enough for my Thermarest Neo Air All Seasons size large & my pack. But it's pretty light (about 2,5 pounds incl. poles, they make a more expensive version with carbon fibre poles too that weighs less then 2 pounds) and you can pitch it as one piece which is great when it rains. I've spend over 40 nights in it so far & it's still like new so they hold up pretty well. I did replace the stakes that came with it for a set of MSR Groundhogs though, the original ones looked a bit too flimsy to me.

Been trying out some models for work. Some blade types better than others for certain jobs. I'm not much of a woods camping king of guy. So using these FF BEAUTIES in other ways. A little weekend hanging... The background behind the Camp Knife it the reflection of the sky in a trout stream! I forgot my other blades and only brought a Camp Knife, 3/16" FULL grind, SFT. It cleaned fish, prepped dinner, turned dinner, removed limbs from trees for my hammock, it shaved wood, etc...... IT DID FREAKIN' EVERYTHING for 2 1/2 days. Playing around, I even filleted a trout with it! I got home, cleaned her up, got ready to strop her, and she still shaved hair... even after chopping small limbs! WOW

Awesome post will! My buddy and I took our hammocks up on the AT two weeks ago, it was perfect weather! Is that a hennesy I see you using? If so they make great stuff! I have a very cool ENO prototype that I've been using but my friend swears by warbonnet. None the less, I have some pics from our 3 day hike, but sadly no FB pics. I'll get em posted in the adventure thread soon!

BTW. The camp looks right at home!

I love the camp scenes gooberboober and Willic! It is cool to hear how much you did with the camp knife Will!

Thanks for taking the time to share these!
That is a great looking Camp knife:)

Great pics Will and that Camp Knifes a beauty but where are the photos of the fish mate?

I received a Camp Knife in the post today from Jules (bear71) it's an older 2011 model and I must say it's a cracker of a knife. I have a 10 day trout fishing holiday coming up so I will post some pics of the Camp and other knives when I return.

Thanks again Will.

That's an ENO single nest with a Warbonnet silnylon fly, and top and underquilts from various cottage industry makers from hammock forums. I love to sleep in the open, the net makes if feel like a tent to me. Tell me about your ENO prototype?

That really confused me... big knife, all tasks.... hmmmmmm.... why do I carry multiple knives? Maybe a Duke or Woodsman is the one knife choice!

Thanks for taking the time to share these!
That is a great looking Camp knife:)

That's the Camp Knife left over from FBF a few weeks ago! No one wanted it, and I felt sorry for the beautiful beast... Now she has a home and is playing in the woods! Fiddleback Friday does not work with my schedule at the moment, but it's amazing how many good knives remain when the dust clears! :) Like it was meant to be!
