Finally got screwed, culprit firesteelsurvival

Nathan I hope you are serious and are going to change but I would add that you need to become more honest. At several places on the net you claim to be 14,20 & 25;Now I really don't care how old you are unless I am selling you a knife and your state has age limits for owning certain weapons but that being said if you continue to lie on the net where(it was said earlier in this thread)your prospective employers, friends, girlfriends and many others can see your behavior.Do you think people will view this kind of activity positively? If you want a future on the net you need to be honest and the same person everywhere or no one will trust you.Good luck son

As long as we're dispensing "fatherly advice" (and yes, regardless of your correct age, I'm old enough to be your father), if you want to be taken seriously in this world, you're going to need to put a little effort into things like spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and grammar. It may be fine for text messages, or even Facebook, but in the real world, people judge you on things like that.

I really hope the problem is lack of effort but somehow I doubt it. Literate or not, he should know the difference between right and wrong.

For once I find it in my heart to believe this young man is sincere. Hopefully, he will stick around because I can think of no better place and no better group of people to learn about knives, the outdoors, and in many cases life in general.

Lesson learned, make this right and move forward. One thing I am absolutely positive about is that there will never be any second chances if you do this kind of stuff again here on BFC.

i did not try rip this i guy off. ok heres what happend first thing the he made the offer to me i told him i would think about it so i thot about it and told him i would trade so i was bored and was checking my emails and i got a traded offer for it from another person and he wanted a plain egde so i went to my sharrpining stone and sanded down the serrations and then i got an email that said the guy did not want to trade so i traded to the guy with the landi and the military was not in that bad of conditon and i sent him the knife and he sent me his knife i did not want to rip him off befor i could tell him any of this he already sent the knife so im sorry and will send him his knife back he may also keep the military i sent him im really sorry i really did not want to rip any one off. the reson i did not reply any of his emails was because he was beening a big asshole about it telling me he wants his knife back insted of asking.

I can believe that's what happened but you should understand that regrinding the blade was a pretty stupid thing to do.
You should have told him that what he was going to be getting and not just hoped he would swallow it or not notice.

Were you at all surprissed that he was pissed off about getting a trashed knife ? You should have jumped up and been straight
with him then. You can't just ignore the guy because you think he's being an A-hole, he had every right to be annoyed.

with a -1 itrader feedback score, i doubt anyone will do transactions with him in the future. that is unless he makes it right.

Nathan, thank you for stepping up and making this right. As soon as I receive the Landi I will return your military. Just to clarify though, the trashed blade is not the only issue with this knife. The locking liner has massive play between where it sits and where the blade makes contact (or rather fails to make contact). I would like to address your reason for not responding to me. My email was very civil, I did not badmouth you, I only said that you will return the landi and that I will return the military. With the misrepresentation of this knife I was well within my rights to make such a demand.

I have received an Email from Nathan and he is returning the Landi. He is very concerned about being forgiven. I told him that as long as he made it right that he would be forgiven and that no one wants him to leave the forums. Thanks to everyone for their advice in dealing with this. Thank you Esav for your help as well. I suspect that your involvement prompted or at least expedited this resolution.

FWIW grinding the serrations down doesnt make it a plain edge lol, then its a fouled up SE someone has ground down and is worth to most folks nothing, i know i wouldnt want the thing.

if you sanded down the serrations the millie was not in good shape.
