Update 1: this community has been so helpful and has given great feedback so thank you. After some feedback, the seller was @Pangloss1.
I’m new to the blade forums so if there is any correction that needs to be made or if I violate any rules please let me know.
So on February 22, there was a post for a 940-1 listed as “Basically BNIB” there post will be linked here:

I agreed to purchase this knife and the Dragonfly that was also listed. The Dragonfly was stated in excellent condition. I offered to buy both from the seller and he cut me a deal so I was happy. Payment was sent over the next morning and the seller sent them out that day.
Fast forward a few days and I got the knives in the mail, but not in the condition that was listed or the condition I had thought. The 940-1 had plenty of dust and debris on the axis mechanism and when I tore it down to clean it up, parts of the omega springs had rust the the liners also had wear on them and well. The whole knife was caked in dust and gunk for lack of a better term. I asked the seller for a blade centering picture and it looked good to me. I know how Benchmade is with their QC because I own the original 940 and a 556-1 and both of those brand new had a few centering problems. The centering on the 940-1 was terrible, basically rubbing on the non show side, not at all like the picture I received.
The dragonfly had good blade centering but the scales had some dust and dirt within the FRN, not something I cannot clean but not in the excellent condition listed.
Here are a couple pictures I took when I unpacked the knives,

As you can hopefully tell, the 940-1 was definitely not Basicaslly BNIB and the dragonfly has some wear. I think I’m just most upset of being misinformed of the condition of the 940. I’m happy I got it but needed to send the knife off to Benchmade immediately because of the well worn parts and terrible action. I cleaned up the knife before doing so but it still wasn’t amazing, but definitely much better.
Here are a few email correspondence I had with the seller, I also had to email twice asking about the condition I received the knives in before getting a response.

I didn’t want to name names or cause trouble but thought my first experience here may be shared. I trade on the knife swap subreddit and that has always been a pleasant experience over there, just unfortunate that my first here was less than ideal but such is life.
