Thanks for posting. The seller was completely wrong in their description. Their comment of have a nice life - shows what kind of person they are. They knew darn well that that knife was carried quite a bit. The statement of "just taken out of the box to install a clip" is a pure lie.

Hang in there most people here are great. Would like to see the Seller come here to explain themselves.

I did post on his profile with the link to this thread, so we’ll see if he wants to respond or not. I appreciate all the feedback.

I just sent that member a PM with a link to this thread. He called this whole deal "childish" and that he got what he wanted for that knife. I seriously doubt he will come here to defend himself.

I wonder how it seems childish. I think just being upfront about everything and this whole thread wouldn’t even exist. I’d be happy with a clean, new knife and he’d be happy with the money he got for it. Thank you for PM’ing him though.

From his attitude through PMs, I'd be very surprised he says something in this thread. He's wrong and he knows he's wrong, that's why he is being silent. I think it's wrong to label a knife as LNIB, when it obviously isn't. I'd be highly upset too and would have started a claim and sent the knives back right away. Don't let this deter you. Most deals go without hitch here. You're gonna have your knuckleheads like this guy, but they are in the minority here.

My general observation is that the collective knife loving community tends to enter the bizarre-o world where transactions can go wrongly more often when folders are involved and specifically speaking, some folder makes / models than others! This may be stating the obvious just based on the sheer numbers and / or volumes of supply and demand, but I see less egregious behavior when it cokes to fixed blades. Not denying that these issues exist on the other side but seems less prevalent to me. Do some of you see and notice the same patterns?

I agree and I think that has to do with the inherent differences between fixed and folders. More components and facets equals more things to not be up to a certain standard, break, or simply get overlooked. Hence, more opportunity for problems.

@Pangloss1 is going on my ignore list, unethical member.

OP - Your call; but I would strongly consider adding his name to the title of the thread with some edits.

People should be aware of this guy and then this thread would come up if anyone searched for him here. May save someone else from headaches with him down the road.

But, if you keep the box, and you "just" use the knife, for a couple of years, not cutting anything, you know, that anybody would notice, couldn't you toss the knife, back into the box, and say: "LNIB?" Junk, and crud, don't matter, I'll just tell the poor buyer that it's dried, factory applied, lubricant. "Yeah, something like that."

My definition, for "like new," is so narrow... Like, essentially, like new, to me, would mean that if you examined the knife, one could not differentiate the difference between it, and something that hasn't been handled/factory fresh. Any kind of scratches, or anything that happens, during use, makes the knife used.

I think the OP handled this far better, and with a lot more patience, than I would have - so, hat's off to you, sir! And "buyer's remorse," please! OP just wanted a square deal, and it didn't get it, by a long shot!

I know you guys were waiting for me to speak, so there you have it! :D:D:D

It took a lot of patients lol. I just laughed it off for the most part.

I guess your definition and my definition are completely different than his definition of “LNIB”.
