I should probably chime in here. I bought this Sebenza, https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/left-hand-h-series-sebenza-for-sale.1521139/. As you can see it's listed as excellent condition, the pic shows no scratches. What I actually got is pictured below. Considering that it's a 27 year old knife, I wasn't too surprised and didn't complain, but it should have been disclosed.

Wait. Wow. That’s terrible imo. Like in his post you cannot see any scratches and you got it like that, and paid the 1250? I’d be pissed, the 940-1 was only $210. This would make me boil I think. I’m sorry that you got your knife like that.

For a 27 year old knife, those scales are impeccable. I wonder if they've been in for a spa treatment.

I can't even take a CRK out of the box without getting a snail trail on it.

“LNIB and Excellent Condion” are out and out lies.

My guess is he took the dark picture at an angle in order to deceive. Closer inspection of the single photo shows scratching around the flat near the tip. Very hard to pick up as from first glance it looks fantastic. Again, you shouldn’t have to go over a photo with a microscope in order to trust a member. Do you recall any correspondence with him after the sale?

We’ve jumped quite a bit going from a $200 knife to a $1,250 collectors item. Not good at all

Your eyes must be better than mine. I still can't see scratches in the original looking for them. It takes some serious spin to get that to excellent. It had to be a real disappointment when it arrived. Though still a nice piece of CRK history regardless of the scratches..

I wasn't as disappointed as I could have been, because as I said, I kind of expected it. No box or docs meant the knife had likely been used at some point. I also know that descriptive terms can get really subjective when describing something as stupid-rare as a handmade Sebenza. I only came forward with it, because I realized I'd done the community a disservice by giving positive feedback on this purchase even though I was satisfied with it.

Why would you not have given him negative feedback or started a thread here. Might have saved OP from making the mistake of trusting this fool. I also wonder at what point (two very clear instances) a member gets tossed for blatantly lying about the condition of knives he's selling?

? for the OP & LW-was the price paid reasonable for the condition received. If it was it doesn't excuse the sellers not giving full disclosure, but at least he isn't over charging.
I was just curious

I personally don’t think the price I paid for the knife was reasonable for the condition it was recieved. I still don’t have the knife because it needed to be sent off for warranty work. I’d think it would have been reasonable had I been able to use the knife and it function properly right out the box.

Fair enough. I was just wondering since both kept the knives without price adjustment(asked for or received) if he was offering fair deals but just lacking on description-I got my answer-no(at least in your instance).
