I think it looks great, but also think that the billboard thing could be a smidget more subtle. A smaller '40' perhaps.

So sick. I'm not a safe queen guy but I will get this knife and I will keep it in the safe. Sorry to disappoint! :D

jkulysses - Where did you find those Skylines, and are they for sale? New variant?

Thanks!

I think there's a little bit of a quality disparity between a $3 Tac Force knife and a $500 Kershaw limited edition.

Which is fine, except people also mock(rightfully so) the Tac Force stuff for their gaudy and over the top APPEARANCES, not just for the quality. But when an EQUALLY gaudy, albeit well made knife is released, suddenly it looks "amazing". It amuses me.

Looks great! Love the red standoffs, and overall just a great looking knife with great materials!

Maybe I'm crazy, but I doubt the price will be 500 bucks. Even for a limited edition, the materials are pretty standard.

Doesn't change the fact it's a gorgeous blade though.

Knives are like women. Everyone has their preferences, but every once in awhile one not fitting the cookie cutter will jump out at you and make you crazy. ...And if you're not careful, they'll cut you to ribbons, too...usually right after they bankrupt you... :D

And those red standoffs; not gas station--think Victoria's Secret. :peach:

Top shelf materials and definitely a high quality knife but the graphics, red standoffs, & black blade scream Bud K to me. Different strokes for different folks, and I'm sure many Kershaw fans will love it, but I'll be taking a pass on this one.

Definitely want a Kershaw 4040 Ruby. Wow! Love the finish! KVT manual flipper with solid ZDP-189 blade and titanium frame lock. Way to celebrate 40 years of Kershaw Knives!

I'm not sure if they will be for sale or not. They have it on display at shot show & posted some pictures of it up on the Kershaw Facebook page. I like it though for sure. :)

This knife is a commemorative display piece that doubles as a knife. These will be shown off like other commemorative stuff. Buck and other companies make these and they are equally "showy" with writing all over them and such. Meant for the big collectors not the users.

I think they're gaudy in a different way though. Tac Force knives say "look I'm tactical and ninja-esque and totally ready for the zombie apocalypse" while the Kershaw says "Yup, I'm a 40 year old virgin and I'm proud of it!"

They should have made the zt 0600 their 40th,much classier looking knife...sorry guys just not feeling it at all.

The ZT 0600 is sexy, but this Kershaw Ruby just has something about it. I like the designs on the blade most of all.

What a stellar knife. Take off all of the markings and you have a very, very solid production piece right there. Hopefully street price will be bearable, if not you guys will get to enjoy without me.

I wonder why they use Japanese steel ZDP189 ? $5xx price point could use US made steel S110V

I was wondering this as well. I get that Kershaw is owned by KAI but it just seems a little odd to use a Japanese steel on a 40th anniversary knife for an American company.

I like the handle shape, standoffs look good but the blade finish and graphics are a bit tacky. This could have been more tastefully done while still retaining it's collector piece image.

Love it and love Kershaw!! Love my s30v blur and just got the bdz1 tanto blur even tho I hate serrations
