I was just covering my butt, I am part of the Mafia and all. At least, I think I am. Russ, am I part of the Mafia?

Put me down for one of those. I love it. A standard stonewash and G10 production model (that I can use and abuse) would be even cooler. Keep the red standoffs, though...those are sweet.

hmmm i like the red and some of the design but at $400 this is a hard sell if you ask me. I love and collect their LEs and have almost every single one, but this one seems a bit higher then expected.

But i am a sucker for that red lol

Just a thought but it seems funny that it's ok to bash this KAI knife with Kershaw branding as being overpriced but if you say the same about a different KAI knife with zero tolerance branding then there's a foul committed. What's even worse is that the "faults" are pretty much the same for both. The ZT rabid fanboyism is strong. Personally, I like this knife, and I like the 454 too., but for these prices they can find another buyer, and I'm sure they will.

Its a LE made of the highest end materials and workmanship. If its over priced they wont sell. Im guessing they will sell just fine. If you dont like it fine dont buy one.

That knife looks like it was pimped by the same people who worked on the Fast & Furious movies. And for 4 bills?!? Blech! Too bad. That design deserved to get a finish with some class.

Its an anniversary release celebrating 40 years of making knives for its fans. the markings and design are there for a reason

I don't care what the reason is. TACKY IS TACKY! It could' have been done so much better. The only thing missing on that thing is diamond studs and the hydraulic system in the pivot so the blade can "bounce" open like an El Camino!

Why, because I don't like it? There is no vitriol, no baiting and no insults or personal attacks. I am expressing my opinion. Apparently it is a valid opinion since you are not defending its looks just the reasoning behind them. This is not the Kai forum. I am allowed to express my displeasure in regards to the fact that Kershaw has taken a really nice design (their own, I might add) and turned it into a NASCAR knife.

Say what you want. The people who buy these will enjoy the crap out of them. Just like the previous anniversary knives these will be hot commodities. What I would do for the 25th anniversary knife. But im sure it looks a little too dale jr for you anyway and probably only turns left like a southpaw.

LOL! I know I always need to take 3 turns to go right!
You are absolutely correct there. Fanboys are most likely going to buy it and stick it on a shelf. I was just really disappointed considering how much I liked the design. That plus the fact I was born in July 1974. So the whole 40 Ruby idea really appealed to me.

B.T.W. What's a dale jr?:p

It has the new Kershaw logo and the year span on the handle. The blade is engraved with "40 Years". That seems to be it as far as billboarding. I think it looks great, not just for an anniversary piece, but as a knife that I'm going to use.

Your issue is that considering you need to say "This is not the Kai forum," it's obvious that you're not commenting on how you dislike the knife. You're intentionally taking nonsensical jabs for the sake of antagonizing with fans of the knife/brand. What is a "NASCAR knife"? There is nothing car-related on it. There are no sponsorship markings anywhere. I fail to see the connection. Moreover, what does the film crew of an action movie have to do with these three identifiers: "Kershaw Knives", "1974-2014" and "40 Years"? Again, I fail to see the connection.

Frankly, I couldn't take seriously any kind of aesthetic criticism that begins with "LOL!", so my response to it should be taken with a grain of salt anyway.

Sorry to bust everyone's bubble, but I mean for the money they'll probably ask for this thing, I can get an adamantium blade with nano-bearing washers, gorilla glass handles, and platinum hardware from almost any custom maker and get it in a heartbeat. None of this order online nonsense.

All you Kershaw fanbois need to get your heads out of the clouds and come back down to Earth where the real knives are.
