I'd buy that.

Would've loved to see them commit to the zero grind though!

Lots of really cool designs
I would be interested in 2 or 3 of those if they were in anything better than 8Cr.
Nothing against that steel, but there are just sooooooooooooooo many knives that Kershaw brings out with 8Cr. A little variety would be nice. 14C28N, S30V, CPM154, something different than 15 new knives in 8Cr.

Sorry, I just am disappointed with knives this cool getting the "budget" treatment.

They're made in China. If you want better steels, they'd have to import those steels to China which would in turn raise the prices on these budget folders. I just checked Kershaw's site, and MSRP on the Emerson collabs ain't bad. I don't mind 8cr that much.

Someone just posted a ZT/Emerson collab, at least that will probably have better steel ;)

I'm interested as to why Emerson Knives would have their creations made by a larger company, with budget pieces that may have tighter tolerances and (some would argue) better construction than what's available from EKI?

I like the ZT collabs, the Kershaws look cool and are probably good for the money but the materials look less than what I would want, but for the money they should be a good value as most kershaws are.

I kinda see these budget Kershaw Emersons the same way I see the Thermite: the chance to try what is usually a pretty designer-specific feature in a budget knife. For the Thermite, it was the spanto grind. For Emerson, his trademark is the wave. Granted, Emersons are cheaper than Hinderers and some Spydercos have the feature, but to have a full Emerson design in a budget package is a cool way to try out something otherwise inaccessible. I don't have much disposable income, but if I find myself with a surplus and an occasion to splurge, I might just pick one up for some wavy antics.

I would have too, but look what happened last time a production company did a factory zero grind. The Spyderco Nilakka (or however it's spelled) all had to be recalled and given a microbevel because people were damaging the zero ground edge too easily. That being said, I'm sure the thickness behind the edge on the ZT would support a stronger zero grind.

He probably doesn't have the space, time, or money to put these designs into production.

Hahaha I didn't know that! That's pretty embarrassing, way to make a purpose built knife and then be like "no we messed up it has to have a regular bevel now."

Yeah I think the ZT would be fine, can't imagine that blade is any thinner than .140 or so. I could probably make that a true zero but we shall see.

Love the blade shape though, nice to see a curvy tip instead of a 45 degree angle. Do you know if any Emersons have that style?

The patent on the wave feature is going to expire before too long. My guess would be that Mr. Emerson A. Wants to get what he can from the patent before it goes and B. Wants to insure that the first wave (pun intended) of inexpensive options are both associated with his name and of decent quality. It won't be too long before the market is flooded with junky Smith and Wesson waved knives.

That CQC-4K looks good, I like the color combo and the blade shape, reminds me of spyderco's waved blades (but the wave is different).

Waves plus China prices!? These may very well turn the knife industry on its head... OK maybe not, but they should sell pretty darn well. I will be getting a few for sure. I hope they are also chisel ground.

440c waaay better than 8cr! I'm not an 8crmov hater but its not a hard use steel I think it defeats the purpose of the Emerson design.

But with 8Cr they should be a lot less than $50 street price. Emerson designs for that much? Yes please! You could have most of them for about the same price as a single Emerson!

I can see the charm of it! You know its going to cost you all $50 plus a $150 right after for the real thing once you get your hands on the kershaw version :-)

Thats why there is a ZT collab with Elmax or M390!!!

I'm usually a small knife edc guy. Even the ZT is a bit of a bigger knife from what I normally buy. The ZT 566 has really charmed me though!
